‘Twas the Night Before CRCT
•GO TO BED at a decent hour!
•RESOLVE any issues or put them to rest until after testing
•PRAY
•Be Confident!
Question Order?
Answer EASY Questions FIRST!
WHY? Build confidence, score points, mentally orient yourself to vocabulary, other parts of the test may have
information that will help you out with one of the hard questions.
When you come to a difficult question spend a small amount of time on it…If you cannot figure it out, put a dot beside it or circle it in your test booklet and MOVE ON!
After answering all the easy questions, go back to the
DIFFICULT ones.
Break apart the question:
1. Read the Question—What is it asking?
2. Read all the Answer Choices (A<B<C<D)
3. Eliminate any Answer Choices that you know are not the answer (cross through them) If you can eliminate 2 wrong answers your chance of choosing the right answer is greater
4. Read the Question again
5. Choose an Answer by marking it in your Answer document
Reading Passages
•Read the QUESTIONS first—this allows you to know what you are looking for
as you read
•Underline KEY WORDS or PHRASES as you read.
• Look for CLUES in other questions that may help you .
What if I do not know the Answer?• SKIP it the first time
• Use Elimination
• Question options that grammatically don’t fit with the question (stem)
• Question options that are totally unfamiliar to you
•Question options that contain negative or absolute words (always, never, every etc…
•“All of the Above”: If you know two of three options seem correct, “all of the
above” is a strong possibility
•“Look alike options”: probably one is correct: choose the best but eliminate choices that mean basically the same thing, and thus cancel each other out.
•Echo options: If two options are opposite each other, chances are one of them is correct
•Usually the correct answer is the choice with the most information.
•Number Answers: toss out the high and low and consider the middle range numbers
Continued…
Continued…•If two like choices seem correct, compare them for differences and then choose the best one.
• B or C
•Guess if you do not know! There is NO penalty for guessing so Answer ALL questions… You might get lucky

FINAL TIPS:• Fill in BUBBLES fully (Do not go outside of bubble)
•ERASE all stray marks on Answer Document
• Periodically Double Check your QUESTION NUMBER to be sure you have not gotten on the wrong number
• Make sure you put the correct FORM NUMBER on your Answer Document
• Keep your eyes on your own paper!
• Do not Rush…
FINAL TIPS:• Don’t worry if others finish before you!
Focus on the test in front of YOU!
• If your arm tires during testing, put your pencil down for a minute
• Change positions to help you relax
• Do NOT fall asleep during the test
• Bring a BOOK to read for after the test…Nothing else! AR?
• Remember there are some questions designed to challenge the limits of your
knowledge at a grade level above your current grade. (Field Test items)

You have been taught what you need to know
You have reviewedRELAX
