İnterim Design Report

1. Definition of the Design:

· Idea of the design must be fundamentally explained and generally defined.

· Original parts of the design must be explained.

· Systems which are being used while high speed cruise,landing and take off must be explained.

1. Subsystem:

· Subsystems and mechanisms which will be used must be decided.

· Subsystems' placement on the helicopter must be explained and supported with images.

· Choice and placement of the thrust system must be explained with reasons.

· Loading and unloading systems of the cargo must be explained.

· Effects of changing the total cargo capacity on the design and performance of the helicopter must be explained.

1. Performance and Calculations:

· Sizing methods should be told briefly and used calculation tools must be stated.

· Performance prediction methods , fuel consuming predictions based on performance data must be explained briefly,used calculation tools must be stated and the results must be defined.

· Maximum cruising speed, range, airborne time , minimum suspension ceiling values should be calculated and shown to meet the requirements.

· The power requirements and loss predictions of subsystems and the effects of these values on the design should be explained.

· Size of the cockpit must fit the pilot and sizing of the cockpit must be based on an anthropometric data.

· Predictive values of empty and maximum take off weight must be stated.

1. Images:

Images of the design which have been created with using a CAD program must be added to the report.Images must show the general features,working principle,size and placement of the systems.Execution of the task which has given in the specification (take off,cruise,cargo loading-unloading scenario and landing) must be explained with images.

1. Changes:

Changes and/or improvements to the design solution mentioned in the previous report or form should be explained together with the reasons.

Notes About the Report:

· Interim Design Report must be matching with the terms which have been given above and the content part of the report should be up to ten (10) pages.

· All reports must be written with the academic report standarts.

· Every report must contain a cover page.

· Font must be "Times New Roman, punto : 12, line gap : double".
