Everyone Can Be a Movie Star!

Instructions for making severe weather video with Do Ink App

1. Go to the weather website given and begin collecting information about your group’s severe weather and create your script (15 minutes).

2. Practice your script to feel comfortable with it. You don’t have to memorize it, just read through it a couple of times for mistakes or to make changes. (5 minutes)

3. Record your video using the camera app on the iPad and have the set crew hold the green paper for the background. Your video should be about 1-2 minutes. View it for any mistakes or if you want to re-shoot it. DOUBLE CHECK THAT IT IS SAVED ON THE CAMERA APP! (10 minutes)

4. Decide what images you want to use for your background that has to do with your severe weather and goes along with your script. You may Google images and then take screenshots of them to save to the camera roll (to screen shot press the home button and screen button on the top right of the iPad at the same time). Crop the photos or zoom when you take a screenshot to cut out the background. DOUBLE CHECK THAT ALL THE IMAGES YOU WANT ARE SAVED TO THE CAMERA ROLL! (5 minutes)

5. Go to the Do Ink app (it has a squid on it). Click on the + sign in the upper right hand corner to create a new project. Click on the first + sign and click video. This will give you the option to choose from your videos. Click on your green screen video and in the upper right hand corner click “Use.”

6. To add in your images they must be lined up from last to first. So for the next + click on the + and click on image. This will allow you to choose from your camera roll. Choose the LAST image that you want to appear in your video. Using the blue highlighter press, hold, and move it to where you want the image to appear in the video. Repeat this for any other images you want to add in. REMEMBER THAT THE IMAGES SHOULD BE LINED UP LAST TO FIRST! (steps 5 & 6 should take 5 minutes)

7. Once you are done adding in the images, press play to make sure the video is how you want it to be.

8. If you are happy with your video, click the export button (the rectangle with an arrow). The video will run through then click “Save to camera roll.” Click “Ok” then “Done” in the bottom right hand corner then exit the app.

9. Go to the camera app to make sure your video got exported correctly. (steps 7-9 should take 5 minutes)
