WACKER's polymer business linespecializes in dispersions based on vinyl acetate-ethylene co- and terpoly-mers. Today, WACKER'S VINNAPAS® and VINNOL® portfolio caters to the needs of a myriad of industries. Such diverse application requirements call for a clearly differentiated and broad product portfolio. We have divided the product range into three main areas, highlighting just a few of the main appli-cations for each as a guide.

The High Performance ChoiceVinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) technology is increasingly replacing other technolo-gies due to the continuous refinement of its core benefits of excellent cost-in-use and broad formulation flexibility, in line with future trends. The VINNAPAS® and VINNOL® range offers a broad selection of products to enable adhesive, coating, and

nonwoven/textile manufacturers to formu-late the right balance of cost and perfor-mance for their end-use applications.

Designed with Market-Leading Insight VINNAPAS® and VINNOL® dispersions are impressive for their excellent quality and are stabilized with colloid and/or surfactant systems. The most common colloid system used is poly(vinyl alcohol), a large water-soluble molecule. It provides wet properties that are not possible with surfactant protection alone. Surfactant–protected systems are much more thixotropic than PVOH-stabilized dispersions and become thinner under high shear conditions.

Supporting Industry GrowthWACKER offers a product range that includes suitable binders to support our customers with their targeted applica-tions. Furthermore, it enables differentiated performance. As market and technology leader for VAE’s, we continue to innovate and develop our product portfolio always with current and future demands in mind.

Expanding VAE Technology into New FieldsAs we enhance the capabilities of VAE technology, we increase its potential usage in other fields. VAE dispersions offer numerous performance and cost advantages over other monomer-based technologies, which is why they are being increasingly adopted in new areas and applications.
