AndriTz Biax Sequential stretching lines Approximately 95% of the world’s oriented

flat films is produced using sequential

stretching. This production technology is

often preferred because it allows the pro-

ducer to “design” a precise film in terms of

stretching ratio, layers, materials, width, and

output capacity.

ANDRITZ Biax provides sequential stretching

lines for all types of oriented flat films. Our

expertise is in arranging and configuring

the various process steps in the line to get

the specified film at the end. Each process

component is integrated and exactly tuned

to work in concert with the next.

Main and co-extrusionCasting

Dosing, conveying,and feeding

dosing, conveying, and feedingSilos for storing different resins. Gravity

and pneumatic conveyors transport the

raw materials from the silos. High-precision

gravimetric dosing and mixing units feed

virgin resin, master batches, edge trim, and

additives to the extruder.

Main and co-extrusionOptimized twin and single screw extrusion

with the shortest residence time. Energy-

saving vapor heating system provides a

homogeneous surface temperature. Fast

changeover feedblock for different layer

configurations and multi-layer die.

MdOFilm is first oriented in Machine Direction.

Cast film is warmed to optimum stretching

temperature in the pre-heating zone. Direct-

driven rolls with vapor heating technology.

Multi-gap stretching configuration.

TdO High speed, fully flexible chain track system

performs the transverse stretch. Clips are

open and closed by magnets . TDO heating

by electricity, gas, or oil. Advanced oven

concepts to save energy

Pull roll StandEasy automatic threading of film as it exits

the TDO. Individually driven vacuum rolls,

high precision X-ray measurement system,

and corona and/or flame treatment combine

with advanced edge cutting system to mea-

sure, trim, and treat the surface of the film.

WinderConstant winding angle and perfect control

of winding ensure wrinkle-free jumbo rolls

up to 8,700 mm width.

Mill roll StandStorage and staging of jumbo rolls for other

process steps: slitting, metalizing, packag-

ing, etc.

ControlAdvanced but easy-to-operate process

control for entire production line.

CastingSprayed-water chill roll with backlash-free

drive and high level prolonged water bath

for BOPP. Air knife with advanced pinning

system. Spiral cooling chill roll for BOPET.
