• Based on the requirement to reduce the electrostatic field below 1.5 MV the design of the GTO stack was modified to achieve this goal

• Following the proposals of V.Senaj i also made a model to verify the results of these modifications

Conclusions• The required goal of 1.5MV was achieved with these

modifications• Further optimization can be made for the thickness of araldite

surrounding the ground busbar to reduce the field
