Computer and networking technologies are an integral part of today’s society. It is hard to imagine a world without ATM bank machines, the internet, email, Ipods, DVD players, personal computers, digital photography or cell phones. Schools should prepare students for life in our society. Since the use of technology is a fact of life, the classroom should reflect this.

For this reason, it is becoming increasingly important to utilize technologies within the classroom. Computers, word processors, media technologies, projectors and various software applications are among the many tools teachers can use to motivate, teach and evaluate their students progress. With this change in resources comes a change in the methodology of everyday classroom procedures and tasks.

Technology is changing the ways in which students learn and thus, creates new challenges for teachers. The traditional methods can sometimes be considered outdated. The concept of teaching and instruction is very much the same, but the tools and methods to teach and instruct are changing rapidly with the development of new technologies. Because of this, teachers must consider incorporating technology within the teaching model.

Of course, one of these technologies which have become very common and familiar to most people is the internet. I have researched some helpful websites that suggest plans and methods of incorporating technology in our teaching models. I have also explored how a teacher can go about deciding the best way to decide which technology may be ideal for their classes.
