Welcome, New Employees!

As we close another successful year at Masonic Village, I wanted to share my speech to the recently honored staff at the Annual Employee Service Recognition Program. I felt it was a message that all employees should hear. “Today is a celebration marking milestones, but really we are celebrating your service and your dedication to our residents and our Mission. Typically at this event, I would read resident comments and thank you notes, and I have plenty of those. But, today I would like this message to come from the Masonic Village leadership team. You deserve to hear how much we appreciate you. Today, I want to thank you for: · Your kindness and compassion to our residents, even when it's hard;· Your willingness to teach and mentor your co-workers, even when you don't really have time;· Your flexibility, even when we ask a lot of you on short notice;· Your initiative, even when no one asked you for it;· Your assistance to visitors, even when it distracts you from your planned work; · Your resilience and determination, even when we throw a lot of changes your way;· Your sensitivity in handling difficult family situations, even when emotions are high;· Your creativity in solving problems, even when others have given up; · Your patience, even when we do things that don't always make sense;· Your contribution to our success and our reputation, even through our toughest times; And finally, THANK YOU for your loyalty, even when you had choices or opportunities to go work elsewhere. I feel very lucky to work with a team like this, so on behalf of our leadership team, it is our pleasure to honor you today and everyday!” My best to you and your family for a

Start the new year with our first wellness incentive program. From Jan. 15 - March 9, there will be a wellness incentive program to monitor blood pressure and receive educational material on the importance of healthy blood pressure. This eight-week program is offered to employees and spouses. During this program, a weekly newsletter will be sent to employees via email. The first week, participants will have their blood pressure taken at the Baird Wellness Center and receive a tracking log to log their blood pressure and all exercise throughout the following seven weeks. For the rest of the program, staff may take their own blood pressure using monitors that will be located at three locations throughout the campus: Outpatient Services - Ask at the lobby window. Wellness Center Front desk - From 5 a.m. - 9 p.m. Human Resources Lobby - From 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The last week, participants will need to have their blood pressure taken at the Baird Wellness Center.
