Team Nanmai is delighted to bring to you it’s newsletter for H1 2015-16. We

wholeheartedly thank our generous and kind-hearted donors, members, volunteers,

Greetings Everyone!

Notebook Distribution: 14,000 notebooks distributed to 1700 students in 10 districts during 2nd and 3rd week of June. Chennai, Coimbatore, Dindigul, Kallakurichi, Krishnagiri, Perambalur,

Salem, Thiruvallur, Thiruvarur and Trichy districts were covered. Notebooks were printed in Salem and distributed with the help of local point of

contacts in various schools at each district. X and XII Std students were the beneficiaries of this program.

Library: Mini libraries that we set up in the following places have received excellent response from the students. • Kamalalayam Children Home at

Ponnarampatti village, Vazhappadi • Govt. School in Kothambadi village,

Salem District

Due to the overwhelming response, we have decided to setup mini libraries in 5 more Govt. schools across different districts. If you have books to donate in Categories

05316. Swami Vivekananda Book Bank:

In the month of July, Engineering books were distributed to 55 B.E. students across various specializations. Dr. R.R.Krishnamurthy, HOD of Applied Geology Dept, Univ of Madras honoured the function by being the Chief Guest and distributed around 275 books to the underprivileged students from Chennai, Thiruvallur and Villupuram districts.

Uniform Distribution: During July, school uniform was distributed to 371 boys and 288 girls studying in IX and XI standards. The 659 students study in schools across Cuddalore, Dharmapuri, Nagapattinam, Perambalur, Pudhukkottai, Salem, Thiruvallur, Thiruvannamalai and Vellore districts.

Home Support: Team Nanmai has been regularly

supporting the following homes in various capacities from bearing the monthly expenses of groceries to providing vessels, home appliances, dresses etc.

• Good Shepherd Old Age Home, Attur • Kamalalayam Children Home,

Ponnaram Patti, Vazhappadi • Aga Deeba Oli Blind Welfare Trust,

Pattabiram, Thiruvallur During the month of September, we received 4 desktop computers from Tata Consultancy Services, through their computer donation scheme and handed them over to Kamalayalam Children Home in Ponnarampatti, Valappadi.

Personality Development Program: 15 college students benefited from the classes conducted during the months of July & Aug. This program is conducted twice every year in Shakespeare Matriculation School at Vadapalani, Chennai

Sapling Planting: Attur village near Chozhavaram (Aug)

200 Saplings planted in and around Attur village, lake shore and on the road sides with help from localities.

Konimedu village near Redhills (Sep) 230 Saplings planted in and around Konimedu village, road sides and other areas with help from localities.

Lakshmipuram village near Redhills (Sep)

100 Saplings planted in and around Lakshmipuram village with help from localities.
