Play the “Tassie Tour”

1st March – 11th March 2017

Get the feel of what it is like to be a travelling Golf Professional,

playing in different events at different courses.

Join PGA Professionals Matthew Duke, Adrian Lawson and Richard Rhodes for 11 days of

tournament golf during the Tasmanian PGA’s “Tassie Tour”.

Play in a series of Pro-Ams across the Apple Isle along with 2 rounds at the World Top 100

Barnbougle Dunes Resort.

During this tour around Tassie you will get the feel of what it is like to be a travelling golf

professional, playing in different events at different courses, meeting the locals and teeing

it up for a paycheck every day.

But this will be a Tour with a difference. We will be bringing back the good old days of the

Tour, the days when Wayne Grady, Peter Senior, Ian Baker-Finch and Rod Pampling played

on the Troppo Tour. The days when you had a beer or two after golf and enjoyed the

company of fellow golfers and locals alike. And if some good music was playing, then all the

better.

our accommodation and wave farewell to the

beautiful city of Hobart. We will be heading to the

North end of the State for an afternoon round at

Barnbougle Dunes. The elder of the two courses,

The Dunes is a spectacular example of traditional

Links golf. Overlooking Barbougle’s pristine beach

sits the stunning Dunes Clubhouse – where you

can wind down between and after games with a

refreshing drink and a hearty meal. This will still

count towards the Order of Merit on our Tour, so

you will still need to play well. After the game we

The Tassie Tour

DAY FIVE Sunday 5th

March

Port Sorell Golf Club Pro Am

After breakfast today we head to the Port Sorrell

Golf Club at the Shearwater Resort for the 3rd Pro

Am on the Tassie Tour. The golf course is situated

approximately 200 metres from Freers Beach and

directly adjacent to the Shearwater Resort. The

first 6 holes are sand based and each hole plays

like a typical links course. The remaining 3 holes

are further away from the beach and play very

differently. The deep bunkers surrounding most

greens can be difficult especially when playing a

shot close to the bunker lips. The greens are

usually speedy with subtle breaks making putting

tricky, especially when its windy.

include large challenging fairways, water hazards

and fast greens that are truly of championship

standard. This is the 5th Pro Am in the series and

the Order of Merit should be starting to become

clear. A good round here could get you closer to

Head into Launceston tonight to sample some of

the great restaurants or a typical Tassie Pub.

Accommodation : Launceston

DAY EIGHT Wednesday 8th

March

Lost Farm

No official duties today so we will be heading

complement the canvas provided by nature.

Coore’s reputation for minimalistic course design

is paired with his philosophy that traditional,

strategic golf is the most rewarding.

Lost Farm’s 20 holes are all playable during any

given round. Boasting spectacular holes that wind

along the coast, adjacent to the Forester River and

inland towards the Tasmanian hinterland, After
