1. PROVIDE TWO-WAY COMMUNICATION VIA AN ADA TELEPHONE OUTLET CONNECTED TOCONTROLLER IN ELEVATOR EQUIPMENT ROOM FOR TWO-WAY COMMUNICATION IN THEELEVATOR CAB.

2. ONLY EQUIPMENT DESIGNATED FOR ELEVATOR OPERATION OR ELEVATOR OPERATIONSUPPORT SHALL BE LOCATED IN THE ELEVATOR EQUIPMENT ROOM AND ELEVATOR SHAFT.

3. VERIFY ALL REQUIREMENTS OF ELEVATOR, ELEVATOR EQUIPMENT AND ASSOCIATEDDEVICES AND SYSTEMS WITH EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER/SUPPLIER AND PROVIDEACCORDINGLY.

4. ALL SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND ASSOCIATED ITEMS RELATED TO THE ELEVATOR SHALL BEPROVIDED IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPLICABLE CODES.

5. PROVIDE 220V, 1-PH, TEMPORARY POWER AND 115V, SINGLE-PHASE TEMPORARY POWERAT ELEVATOR LANDING IN ACCORDANCE WITH ELEVATOR INSTALLER REQUIREMENTS.PROVIDE ALL TRANSFORMERS AND RECEPTACLES AS NEEDED TO MEET THISREQUIREMENT.

6. PROVIDE TEMPORARY LIGHTING AS REQUIRED BY ELEVATOR INSTALLER IN ALL WORKAREAS AND STAIRWAYS WHERE EXISTING LIGHTING DOES NOT MEET OSHA OR CODEREQUIREMENTS.

ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

1. REMOVE CONDUIT AND CONDUCTORS FROM EXISTING DISCONNECT SWITCH TO EXISTINGELEVATOR CONTROLLER. REPLACE EXISTING DISCONNECT SWITCH WITH HEAVY DUTY 60/3/60,LOCKABLE DISCONNECT SWITCH AND EXTEND 4#6 & 1#10G IN 1"C TO NEW ELEVATORCONTROLLER.

2. PROVIDE 30/1/20, LOCKABLE DISCONNECT SWITCH FOR ELEVATOR LIGHTING.

3. CONNECT TO EXISTING CIRCUIT BREAKER SERVING ELEVATOR CAB LIGHTING.

4. CONNECT TO EXISTING ELEVATOR PIT LIGHTING CIRCUIT. DO NOT CONNECT TO LOAD SIDE OFGFCI DEVICE.

5. CONNECT TO EXISTING ELEVATOR PIT RECEPTACLE CIRCUIT.

6. PROVIDE SILENT KNIGHT 6700 FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL AT THIS LOCATION FOR ELEVATORRECALL.

7. CONNECT TO EXISTING SPARE CIRCUIT OR CIRCUIT SERVING RECEPTACLE LOAD WITHSUFFICIENT CAPACITY FOR ADDED LOAD.

8. EXISTING LIGHTING IN THIS ROOM SHALL REMAIN.

4. IDENTIFY ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT USING LAMINATED THREE-PLY, ENGRAVED, PLASTICNAMEPLATES WITH BLACK SURFACE AND WHITE INTERIOR CORE, AT LEAST 1/16 INCH THICK.ATTACH NAMEPLATES USING CHROMIUM PLATED SCREWS. PROVIDE NAMEPLATES FORDISCONNECT SWITCHES.

5. EXAMINE THE PROJECT SITE AND MAKE ALLOWANCES IN THE BID TO ACCOMMODATEEXISTING CONDITIONS.

6. ALL MATERIAL SHALL BE NEW, UL LISTED, AND FREE FROM DEFECTS, UNLESS EXISTINGMATERIAL IS SPECIFICALLY SHOWN TO BE REUSED. INSTALL ALL MATERIAL INACCORDANCE WITH GOOD WORKMANSHIP STANDARDS.

7. SUBSTITUTIONS OF SPECIFIED MATERIAL SHALL BE APPROVED IN WRITING BY THEARCHITECT PRIOR TO BIDDING.

8. PROVIDE ALL CUTTING AND PATCHING NECESSARY FOR THE WORK. PATCHING SHALL BEDONE TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE ARCHITECT.

9. PROVIDE FACTORY FINISH ON ALL MATERIAL FURNISHED TO THE JOBSITE AND TOUCH UPFINISHES WHICH HAVE BEEN DAMAGED.

10. PROVIDE NEW TYPEWRITTEN DIRECTORIES FOR EXISTING PANELBOARDS IN WHICH THELOADS SERVED HAVE BEEN CHANGED BY THE SCOPE OF THIS PROJECT.

11. PROVIDE A COPY OF AS-BUILT PLANS TO THE OWNER UPON COMPLETION OF PROJECT.

12. MAINTAIN OPERATIONS OF ALL BUILDING SYSTEMS DURING CONSTRUCTION. COORDINATEALL SHUTDOWNS OR SYSTEM DISRUPTIONS WITH OWNER SEVEN DAYS IN ADVANCE.

13. USE EMT CONDUIT WITH COMPRESSION TYPE FITTINGS AND INSULATED BUSHINGS, 3/4 INCHMINIMUM, FOR EXPOSED WORK ABOVE SWITCH HEIGHT.

14. USE RIGID GALVANIZED STEEL CONDUIT FOR EXPOSED WORK BELOW SWITCH HEIGHT.

15. USE 4" SQUARE (MINIMUM) GALVANIZED STEEL OUTLET BOXES.

16. USE COPPER CONDUCTORS, TYPE THHN INSULATION, OR APPROVED EQUAL. USE SOLIDCONDUCTORS FOR #10 AWG AND SMALLER AND STRANDED CONDUCTORS FOR #8 AWG ANDLARGER. ALUMINUM CONDUCTORS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.

17. PROVIDE CONNECTIONS TO ALL EQUIPMENT FURNISHED UNDER THIS CONTRACT AND BYOTHER DIVISIONS OF THE WORK. MAKE ALL CONNECTIONS AS RECOMMENDED BY THEMANUFACTURER AND AS REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE CODES.

18. CONNECT ALL MOTORS WITH FLEXIBLE CONDUIT SUCH THAT VIBRATION IS NOTTRANSMITTED TO THE STRUCTURE. USE LIQUID TIGHT FLEXIBLE CONDUIT IN DAMP ANDWET LOCATIONS.

19. MAKE SPLICES AND PROVIDE WORK AS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN CIRCUIT CONTINUITY TOEXISTING DEVICES AND EQUIPMENT TO REMAIN IN SERVICE.

20. REMOVE ALL EXISTING CONDUCTORS, CABLES AND EXPOSED CONDUIT RENDERED UNUSEDBY THE SCOPE OF THIS PROJECT BACK TO THE SOURCE OF SUPPLY.

21. PROVIDE SPECIFICATION GRADE WIRING DEVICES EQUAL TO HUBBELL 1221 FOR SWITCHESAND HUBBELL 5262 FOR RECEPTACLES. PROVIDE STAINLESS STEEL COVERPLATES FOR ALLWIRING DEVICES AND COMMUNICATIONS OUTLETS. INSTALL RECEPTACLES AT +18 INCHESAND SWITCHES AT +48" UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.

22. PROVIDE FUSIBLE CLASS "R" DISCONNECT SWITCHES OF AMPERE RATING AS REQUIRED ORAS NOTED ON THE DRAWINGS. FURNISH HEAVY DUTY, QUICK MAKE, QUICK BREAK, THREEPHASE, THREE POLE SWITCHES. USE NEMA 1 ENCLOSURES INDOORS AND NEMA 3RENCLOSURES OUTDOORS. DISCONNECT SWITCHES SHALL BE OF THE SAMEMANUFACTURER AS THE PANELBOARDS.

23. FUSES SHALL BE CURRENT LIMITING, WITH 200,000 R.M.S. SYMMETRICAL AMPERESINTERRUPTING RATING AND SHALL BE UL LISTED. ALL FUSES SHALL BE OF THE SAMEMANUFACTURER. FUSES 600 AMPERES AND SMALLER SHALL BE CLASS RK1, DUAL ELEMENTEQUAL TO BUSSMANN LPS-RK. FUSES IN MOTOR CIRCUITS SHALL BE SIZED AS FOLLOWS:FUSES FOR NOT LESS THAN 1.15 SERVICE FACTOR MOTORS SHALL HAVE AN AMPERERATING 125 PERCENT OF MOTOR FULL LOAD CURRENT OR NEXT HIGHER FUSE RATING.FUSES FOR 1.0 SERVICE FACTOR MOTORS SHALL HAVE AN AMPERE RATING 115 PERCENTOF MOTOR FULL LOAD CURRENT OF NEXT HIGHER FUSE RATING.

24. CIRCUIT BREAKERS SHALL BE BOLT-ON THERMAL MAGNETIC TYPE WITH NUMBER OF POLESAND AMPERE RATING AS SHOWN ON PLANS. CIRCUIT BREAKERS SHALL BE CAPABLE OFINTERRUPTING THE FAULT CURRENT AVAILABLE TO THEM WITHOUT THE USE OF SERIESCONNECTED RATINGS WITH UPSTREAM CIRCUIT BREAKERS.

25. GROUND ALL WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH NEC ARTICLE 250.

26. FIRE ALARM DEVICES SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THIS CONTRACT BID. FIRE ALARM DEVICESINDICATED ON THE PLAN ARE A MINIMUM. A LICENSED FIRE ALARM CONTRACTOR SHALL BERESPONSIBLE FOR DESIGNING AND INSTALLING THE SYSTEM TO COMPLY WITH ALL ADA,TAS, NEC, AND NFPA CODES AND THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE LOCAL AUTHORITY HAVINGJURISDICTION.

27. ALL TELEPHONE AND DATA SYSTEMS CONDUITS ARE 3/4 INCH UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.

28. PROVIDE MINIMUM OF 2-HOUR FIRE RESISTANCE RATING FOR ALL CONDUCTORS ANDCABLES LOCATED OUTSIDE OF THE ELEVATOR HOISTWAY, MACHINE SPACE AND CONTROLSPACE, THAT PROVIDE NORMAL OR STANDBY POWER, CAR LIGHTING POWER, CARVENTILATION POWER, CAR HEATING POWER, CAR AIR CONDITIONING POWER, CONTROLSIGNALS AND COMMUNICATION WITH THE CAR AS REQUIRED BY CODE.
