Canceled

From the Big SIR: In light of recent worldwide health events

we are using this Monthly Luncheon Notice to

cancel what would have been our annual Sir's Picnic on September 16th, 2020. I am asking

you to continue to open and read these monthly

notices and our Monthly newsletter, The Tale of the Rooster, because these are ways we can keep you informed on the status of SIRS events. All SIRS

sponsored events/activities have now been canceled by the SIRS State President so we will not be gathering again as the SIRS until we receive the all

clear from him. During this time of self-quarantine and with our events canceled, we still want to find a way to continue to socialize either through emails, phone calls, etc. If any of our members/sir’s friends are having problems or could use a little help, reach out to a member on the Branch Executive

Committee so we can investigate how we can help each other.

In an effort to keep in touch with branch membership, your branch executive committee is inviting all branch 106 members to join us at our monthly

Branch Executive Committee meetings held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. Due to covid and shortage of seating we are limited to 5 members per month. If you are interested in seeing and hearing how your BEC works please contact me by the 15th of each month at 707-999-6845 or my email

address at [email protected].

Jim Evans is still keeping track of our members through his Sunshine Report. The Picnic committee is still making plans. Mike

Mastrocovo is still looking to arrange the Horse Races for the fall. The Dennis Dix and the Golf leaders are staying on top of the

golf developments. Norm Roberge and Jim Miller still have the monthly humor to report. The Christmas Party is still on the

planning board. Be sure to read the latest newsletter listed under the Reports Section on our Branch 106 Web Page for the latest

info.

So stay in touch. Keep us informed and we can keep you informed.

Further comments from Rick sent 9/2/2020

We’ve had to cancel our Sept. Luncheon. Things are not looking good for any Large SIR function

for the rest of the year. We are trying to find a way to continue to have a SIR Christmas

celebration but it too is looking doubtful.

Our Branch Executive Committee is still working so we will be ready when times change. To this

end, the BEC has been holding face to face BEC meetings.

In an effort to keep in touch with

branch membership your Branch Executive Committee

is inviting all branch 106 members to

join us at our monthly Branch Executive Committee meetings held on the 3rd Wednesday of

every month.

Due to covid and shortage of seating we are limited to 5 members per month.

If

you are interested in seeing and hearing how your BEC works please contact me at 707-999-

6845 or my email address at

[email protected].

We have received an inquiry from Dennis Pangburn, State SIRS leadership, requesting

information on fire losses for our SIR members. The SIRS Foundation can help with some of

those loses. Recently the Foundation was able to assist those members who suffered losses in

the Camp Fire in Paradise. Now the foundation is seeking information from the current fires. We

are aware they are still burning and some evacuations are still in place. I would appreciate each

of you notifying your BEC

so we can try to get a list of names of those needing help. There is a

short time lead on this so don’t delay notifying a member of the BEC.

We will probably have to change our location for the future luncheons. Our luncheon facility, as

are most facilities, is too small to allow for a crowd our size with the Social Distancing

recommendations. T

he BEC continues to make phone calls to all our members or had the

opportunity the check on them face to face just to see how everyone is doing and to survey

your feelings for future luncheons. Again though if you know of any of our members/sir’s

friends are having problems or could use a little help, reach out and let us know

.

Stay tuned as things do change! Big SIR Rick

Ralph Moses's 72, but Mark had the higher index and won the

Anderson shot a nice net 66 (including a 2 shot penalty for hitting

the wrong ball----blame Beksel!!!)

REMEMBER, next week we are playing on WEDNESDAY the

we can notify the golf course and they can sell those times that we

Hi Branch 106 golfers,

I want to review policy and procedures for our

upcoming Monday Sirs events.

Golf Course Rules:

Wear a mask in enclosed areas (pro shop, restaurant, rest

rooms.

• Use hand sanitizer before entering buildings,

including restrooms.

• Do not touch or remove flagsticks.

• No rakes in the bunkers, so drop out of the bunker at

the nearest point of relief, NO CLOSER TO THE

HOLE, no penalty.

• Do not shake hands, hug or high five fellow players.

Sirs 106 Procedures:

Initially, we are limited to 40 players and 22 carts, so

when you EMAIL me that you are going to play on a

Monday, let me know if you are a walker or are willing to

ride with another player or, because of the CV-19

situation, prefer to ride alone. Please include your

preference with your email response . When you're

finished with your round, please unload as quickly as you

can so the club can recycle the carts. I will try to honor

requests for pairings, but if you want to play with certain

other players, PLEASE CONFIRM WITH YOUR

PARTNERS, before you email me. Because there is NO

SHOTGUN, we will start on #1 and to accommodate RS, I

plan to put out a couple of groups in carts first, then the

walkers, then the remainder of the riders.

I'll be there early enough to take tournament fees, with

first tee time 7:38. You'll continue to pay your green fees

at the desk.

FINALLY,

AT THE END OF YOUR ROUND, THERE WILL BE A

LABELED BOX ON THE PATIO WHERE YOU WILL

PUT YOUR 2 SCORECARDS AND I WILL PICK UP

THE CARDS AT THE END OF THE ROUND. IF

THERE IS NO CARD, YOU DIDN'T PLAY. MAKE

SURE YOU COMPARE, COMPLETE AND SIGN THE

CARD. INCOMPLETE CARDS WILL BE

DISQUALIFIED.

I'LL START TAKING RESERVATIONS JULY 11 AND

WILL CLOSE JULY 15, SO I CAN NOTIFY THE

COURSE OF TEE TIMES AND PAIRINGS. PLEASE

WAIT UNTIL THE 11TH TO EMAIL ME.

Dennis
