June 26, 1873 is the description written on this drawing, from SUPPLEMENTARY DRAWINGS OF CALIFORNIA LIFE AND CUSTOMS, author unknown. We know that the first building in Jolon was an adobe built in 1851, where the Dutton ruin stands today and that the site of the town, or at least the post office, moved around several times. Remnants of the town were thriving in 1920. Today the post office is on the Army base. Fort Hunter Liggett, several miles from where this building would have stood. The next general meeting will be at Mission Days from 11:00 -3:00 pm on April 10th.During Mission Days and for our general meeting we will be working on a tule hut and other tribal members will be making arrowheads.

Tribal updates

Tribal business meetings start at 6:30 pm The first 10 minutes are reserved for open comment from tribal members or can be used by council members for input on a personal matter that they may want to bring before the council.To reserve this time you must call the Tribal office by Monday before the next business meeting. If the matter needs further attention it will be put on the agenda for the following week or when time allows.

Students should be encour-aged to apply to ALL sources of financial aid for which they are eligible.
