Undergraduate and graduate scholarships are open to ANS student members enrolled in a course of study relating to a degree in nuclear science or nuclear engineering. U.S. and non-U.S. residents may apply if they are enrolled in and attending an accredited institution in the United States. Incoming freshmen awards are open to graduating high-school seniors who have enrolled, full-time, in college courses and are pursuing a degree in nuclear engineering or have the intent to pursue a degree in nuclear engineering. Selection Process The recipients of the awards will be selected by an impartial scholarship review committee. Winners will be notified by April/May. Scholarships are non-renewable and must be applied for each year. Preference is given to ANS national student members. Scholarships for Two-Year Programs * The Kent Hamlin Memorial Scholarship This scholarship focuses on two-year associate degree candidates who are participating in the U.S. nuclear power industries Nuclear Uniform Curriculum Program (NUCP) and who demonstrate interest in and commitment to a career in the industry. Two $1000 scholarships are to be awarded. NEED Scholarship Award for Community College and Trade School The NEED Scholarship Award for Community College and Trade School is a $2500 award for students in a two-year program. It is available for applicants planning a career in nuclear science, nuclear engineering, or a nuclear-related field and enrolled or planning to enroll in a college or university located in the United States. Students do not need to be U.S. citizens to apply. Up to four (4) awards will be made per year for students who have a greater than normal financial need.
