Posted online Tues., Nov. 13The City of Tacoma is partnering with the
Washington State Department of Health and Social Services' Division of Vocational Rehabili-tation, the Tacoma Area Coalition of Individuals with Disabilities, the Washington State Business Leadership Network and Tacoma Goodwill to host "Say Hey Tacoma," a job fair and celebration of successes for people with disabilities.
This event will take place in Tacoma on Weds., Nov. 14, between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., at the STAR Center, located at 3873 S. 66th St., and it is ex-pected to draw around 30 employers, 50 or more job seekers, and business leaders, representatives from community organizations and government of� cials who have made it a priority to support diversity in the workplace.
"Many employers understand that innovation is key to their success, and that a diverse work-force can help enrich work environments, and positively transform products and services," said Human Rights and Human Services Director Linda Villegas Bremer. "This is Tacoma's third 'Say Hey' event. The last one took place two years ago. It was hugely successful, and that's why we wanted to bring it back."
According to Americans With Disabilities Act Coordinator Gail Himes, a number of job seek-ers have received on-the-spot employment of-fers at previous "Say Hey Tacoma" events. This year's event will give some of those individuals a chance to return and share their success stories with current job seekers. 'Say Hey' is a really in-spiring event," said Himes. "There's always great energy in the room, and everyone has a chance to tell their story."
"Say Hey," the idea of Lynnae Rutledge, a for-mer director at the Washington State Depart-ment of Health and Social Services' Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, has been hosted by a number of other cities around the Paci� c North-west, including Seattle, Olympia, Renton and Bothell. completion of a stormwater pond in the Fir Ridge neighborhood south of Bonney Lake during a rib-bon-cutting ceremony this afternoon.
The pond was built during the summer and fall. A drainage pipe was also installed along 205th Av-enue to route runoff to the new pond from the adja-cent Cedar Ridge neighborhood.
The two developments and existing stormwater pond were built in the 1980s. The existing pond would receive almost all the runoff from the 170 residential lots and roads within the development. During heavy storms, the pond would � ood adjacent properties.
"The new pond and pipe were installed to reduce � ooding in two neighborhoods," said Harold Smelt, Pierce County Public Works and Utilities surface
water manager. "This facility will provide additional stormwater storage, and clean up stormwater for a safer environment."
At the new pond, existing native trees and shrubs were retained wherever possible, and new trees and plants were added to improve wildlife habitat. Over the years, the vegetation will give the pond a much more natural look than older stormwater ponds.
The project cost $650,000, including property ac-quisition. Funding came from Surface Water Man-agement utility service charge funds. Lloyd Enter-prises, Inc. was the project's contractor.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. at the property located on the northeast corner of 112th Street East and 206th Avenue Court East.

The wife shall be granted a judgment in the amount of $48,331.24 against the husband for his failure to pay his share of debts as ordered in the Decree and to reimburse wife for pay- ments she made in his behalf. Interest should accrue at 12% an- nually. 6. For such other and fur- ther relief as to the court seems just and equitable.
