Criteria for both programs: SCSEP and WISEParticipant Eligibility • Must be 55 years or older .
• Must meet low-income guidelines .
Purpose • To provide meaningful part-time work
experience in community services .
• To provide opportunities to transition into jobs in private industry or the public sector .
Types of Community Services These are quite varied depending on the
skill level of the individual and the needs of the local communities .
Transitions Services • Development of new skills and talents
toward alternate career opportunities .
• Enhanced work experience through exposure to various jobs during enrollment .
• Efforts to transfer enrollees into private sector jobs after training .
Enrollee Benefits • Annual physical examination .
• Personal counseling .
• Job-related counseling .
• Earned wages at the prevailing wage rate for 20 hours per week .
