I like the use of a collage of images to express all the artists featured. This will attract more readers as their are more artists they are interested in. Also, by using one larger photo, our attention is drawn to the feature article.

KerrangThey use a letter from the editor to connect with the readers and give an overview of the magazine.

Image of the cover of the magazine is used on the contents

Kerrang has nine editorial pillars and 71 pages. They are very self explanatory and the same in every issue.

They just list the names of bands and not the article titles

Images of other articles are included with the page number they can be located at. They use the bands name and have a caption.

The use a pull quote from one of the articles featured to attract reader to the article.

NMEThey use the masthead on the contents page to show brand identity

They have five editorial pillars and they seem quite magazine specific.

They use only one image, representing one of the stories featured. Although it is not a good overview of the whole magazine, it does interest you in that one article

NME’s band index is quite a unique feature and it is useful if you have a particular interest in one band. It helps to identify articles that weren’t included in the contents.

In order to gain more customers, NME have included a advert for subscription to the magazine.
