THIRTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME OCTOBER 28, 2018 Dear Parishioners,

We are certainly blessed to have such a vibrant parish com-munity with a variety of organiza ons and ministries that appeal to a wide range of age groups and interests. We are always working to build up the Body of Christ through our witness, service, and worship as a parish family.

One very valuable ministry is our Music Ministry which is our Ministry of the Month. Our music plays essen al role in our liturgical celebra ons. We are so thankful for all those who sing, play instruments and enrich our Masses with their musical talents. We are always looking for new singers and musicians to join our choirs and bands as well as individuals to serve as cantors at all of our Masses. If you would like to share your talents with our parish, please see inside this bulle n for more details or speak to one of our musicians or one of the priests a er Mass.

Our annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony and Recep on spon-sored by our parish school is scheduled for Friday, Novem-ber 9th at 8:00 a.m. in our gymnasium. We invite all veter-ans to a end this memorable ceremony and be recognized by our school community for your courageous service to our country. Our students learn and appreciate our veter-ans so much more a er hearing your stories. There are more details about this event inside this bulle n. All are welcome!

On another note, we strive to provide ongoing spiritual en-richment and faith forma on at Holy Infant. Please check out our kiosk in the ves bule of church which contains some excellent CDs, DVDs, and booklets. We also have a free subscrip on for all parishioners to FORMED, o en re-

ferred to as the Catholic Ne lix that we purchased as a Christmas gi last year. FORMED has many programs, movies, and books over a variety of Catholic topics. It’s easy to get started. Simply go to formed.org and enter our access code: 2KVT7D.

We also have many programs presented by our Adult Faith Forma on Commi ee which provide spiritual enrichment and o en, a chance to interact with your fellow parishioners in a more social se ng. We have the Paint-n-Sip next Fri-day, November 2nd; the Ladies Advent Tea on Sunday, December 9th with speaker Deby Schlapprizzi; and on Sunday, January 13th, Leah Darrow will be giving a presenta on. There is addi onal informa on on our parish website. This coming Lent, the commi ee has planned several engaging speakers including the return of Dr. Larry Feingold and Mrs. Pa y Schneier.

For a deeper faith experience, I invite you to a end one of our CRHP (Christ Renews His Parish) Retreats. The Men’s Retreat is set for January 12-13, 2019 and the next Women’s Retreat is set for March 30-31, 2019.

We even have opportuni es for the younger members of our parish family. We have our Sunday Pre-School of Religion at 10:15 a.m. Mass from now through April. We have Children’s Liturgy of the Word at our Saturday 4 o’clock Mass and on Sunday at our 8:30, 10:15 and 12 noon Masses for students in Kindergarten through 4th Grade. We also have our EDGE (junior high) and Life Teen (high school) youth ministry programs. Please see our parish website or contact the Parish Office for more informa on.

A LETTER FROM MOST REVEREND ROBERT J. CARLSON:

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

In the United States today, numerous Catholic sisters, brothers, and religious order priests past age 70 benefit from the Retirement Fund for Religious collection. Donations to this special collection provide funding that helps religious communities care for senior members and plan for long-term retirement needs.

On the weekend of November 4, all parishes in the Archdiocese of St. Louis will take up the annual collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious, an opportunity for you to acknowledge the thousands of senior Catholic sisters, broth-ers, and religious order priests for their faithful service.

Whether or not we realize it, we are all beneficiaries of the tremendous contributions these women and men have made to the Church in the United States. Through hard work, prayer, and sacrifice, they built Catholic schools and hospitals, initiated programs to promote social justice, and ministered to the neediest among us.

Today, many religious communities struggle to care for their elderly members. Elder sisters, brothers, and religious order priests dedicated their lives to service and prayer, and some lack adequate retirement savings. Increasing health-care costs and decreased income make it difficult to provide necessary medical care, costly medications and basic ser-vices.

Please consider making a financial gift to assist with the care of our senior Catholic sisters, brothers, and religious or-der priests. Many thanks for considering this request.

Apostolate of Spiritual Motherhood for the Sanctification of Priests in the Archdiocese of St. Louis ADOPT A PRIEST PROGRAM - for Women

What is Spiritual Motherhood for the Sanc fica on of Priests? It is a voca on within a voca on, a call of the Holy Spirit whereby feminine souls make repara on and supernaturally nourish souls of priests by offering to God their daily ac vi es and spiritual renun-cia ons. It was promulgated on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Concep on of the Blessed Vir-gin Mary, December 8, 2007 by the Congrega on For The Clergy. The ministry was established in St. Louis by women in the Archdiocese of Saint Louis in May 2013 under the spiritual direc on of the Archdiocesan Director of Voca ons.

Who are the spiritual adop on mothers of priests? Women in every state of life – single, married, lay or consecrated – who love the ministerial priesthood and desire to par cipate in the universal motherhood of Mary, mother of the Eternal High Priest and of all

priests, as she cares for her sons.
