Our Diocese is fortunate enough to have this important shrine on our doorstep. Bishop Toal, in recent times, has encouraged parishes to make greater use of this shrine for prayer and devotion. With this in mind I invite everyone at St. Augustine’s to make every effort to attend our Parish Pilgrimage to the Grotto on Thursday 9 th July. This invitation extends to individuals and families, as well as those family members and friends you may wish to invite. You will find a timetable of the pilgrimage below. Please sign your name and contact details on the list in the porch if you intend to go. Please sign-up by this Monday 29 th June. Please also indicate how many coach seats (£5pp) you require. You may also wish to use your own transport. The cost of the return coach is £5 per person, payable on the day. Under 16’s travel free. Calling Times / Office Hours Appointments to speak to Fr. Kane may be made through the Secretary by calling 01236 423044. (Office hours: 9.00am – 1.30pm Tuesdays and 9.00am – 6.00pm Fridays). Appointments may also be made outside these hours or by emailing [email protected]. Please remember that if you reside outside the boundary of St. Augustine’s, then you must ask for the sacraments in your own parish.

Sacrament of the Sick / Hospital Visitations Those who require the Sacrament of the Sick at home should contact the Chapel House to arrange for Fr. Kane to visit. This should ordinarily be arranged prior to any prolonged hospital visit. The Roman Catholic Chaplain to Monklands Hospital is Fr. Hughes. In cases of emergency where you or a family member require the pastoral assistance of the Chaplain please request this from the nursing staff at the hospital.

Bulletin Notices All notices should be dropped through the Presbytery letter box by Wednesday evening at the latest. Notices for publication should be written clearly.

MARY’S MEALS BOOK The new Mary’s Meals book ‘The Shed that Fed a Million Children’ is on sale now in the Parish Shop priced £12.99. All profits from the sale of this book go directly to Mary’s Meals.

MASS CARDS Mass cards are now available from the Parish Religious Shop at the back of the Church. Careful note will be taken of the Mass intention so as to ensure an individual Mass is offered by the clergy for your specific intention. It is customary to leave a stipend/offering for each Mass.

NEW ANKATSU DOJO CLASS This not-for-profit karate organisation will host classes every Wednesday from 6.30 – 8pm in the Parish Hall. The group promotes self-defence, self-awareness and confidence among children from Primary 1 age upwards. Contact Sharon Doyle on 07833483863 for more information.

NEW GARDENING CLUB Those interested in joining this new club should contact Matthew Sharkey on 07824627873.

WORLD YOUTH DAY MEETING There will be an important meeting for all those pilgrims who have signed-up for the World Youth Day pilgrimage to Poland in summer 2016. The meeting will take place in the parish hall next Sunday 5th July at 6.30pm. Pilgrims are reminded that a £200 deposit needs to be paid by 31st July 2015.

RCIA Anyone interested in becoming a Catholic should please contact Fr. Kane or Sr. Eileen with regard to setting-up a meeting to discuss. This program starts in September and continues until May 2016.

DIOCESAN LOURDES DAY MASS The Annual Diocesan Lourdes Mass for the Sick will take place at Carfin Grotto today (Sunday) at 3pm.

BREAKFAST CLUB Many thanks to all those who so generously volunteered as helpers at the Breakfast Club over this last term. Your time and effort is gratefully appreciated. New helpers are always welcome to join their ranks! The Club will restart after the holidays.
