Sentinel water treatment products and services provide the best
lifetime protection for heating and hot water systems.
For over 25 years we have delivered innovative, practical
products and solutions to the heating industry internationally.
Our experts work with OEMs and industry partners to lead the growth in awareness of best practice water treatment and its benefits. We are committed to developing comprehensive training and communication tools to support this initiative.
We're proud to be endorsed by the industry's major international manufacturing companies.

The History of SystemCare
In 1988 Sentinel gained its first water treatment specification from Liverpool Council by adopting a consultative approach in delivering a quality product and service proposal.
20 years later in 2008 we were awarded the Heating and Ventilation ‘Partnering Initiative of the Year’ for our work with Liverpool Housing Trust.
Today, a key part of our ongoing drive is using SystemCare to lead the market in best practice water treatment. We’ve worked closely with existing customers to create and deliver an innovative package of products and complementary services to offer a simple and effective solution tailored to each customer.
Steve Goodwin, CEO Sentinel Performance Solutions Ltd

We’ve organised our products into three categories; Clean, Protect & Maintain to help make best practice solutions simple.
The Sentinel System is followed throughout the SystemCare process to ensure maximum protection is achieved and maintained during the boiler’s life.
The Sentinel System
Clean Protect Maintain
Page 06 | SystemCare
Cleanto prepare for greater performance
• The Compliance Guide to Part L of the UK Building Regulations now
states that when installing a boiler onto a new or existing central
heating system, the system should be thoroughly cleaned
• Cleaning a new system will remove any installation debris and flux
residues which if left inside the system will cause corrosion
• Restoring a dirty system will remove sludge build-up, improving the
efficiency of the system and help save on fuel costs
Maintain to ensure durable protection
• Once a system is cleaned and protected it is important to ensure
the protection is maintained on a regular basis
• Many factors can impact the level of protection a central heating
system has, for instance the removal of a radiator whilst
decorating. We advise checking the quality of water and level
of protection regularly
Protectto prolong system life and efficiency
• After cleaning, it is important to protect your system from returning
scale, corrosion and sludge build-up
• Chemical inhibitors and physical system filters are proven to provide
ongoing protection
• Electrolytic devices help comply with Part L regulations for scale
reduction in hard water areas
SystemCare | Page 07
While modern condensing boilers
may be more efficient, their
components are increasingly
susceptible to scale and corrosion
related breakdowns. To ensure
your boiler stock and their
manufacturer warranties are
fully protected, it makes sense
to commission the system to
UK Building Regulation Part L
requirements, by using quality
water treatment and scale
protection products.
With scale and corrosion
being the primary cause of boiler
and component breakdowns,
it is crucial that the system
is treated effectively upon
installation and that protection
is maintained annually.
Protect boilers and heating systems
The SystemCare Solution - ProductsUsing the right products will ensure successful system commissioning. Boiler breakdowns are reduced
dramatically, maximising the lifespan of the system.

Keep your tenants happy
The SystemCare Solution - TrainingThrough comprehensive training and quality assurance testing, you can be confident that once passed,
your systems have been commissioned quickly and effectively using the best practice process.
• Workforce trained in best
practice water treatment• Installers achieve first-time
fix for water quality• Deliver effective commissioning
to reduce fuel costs for greater
tenant satisfaction
Key Benefits
Boiler breakdown is inconvenient
for both the homeowner and
contractor. Through SystemCare,
we can deliver a bespoke solution
to each customer, helping to
reduce the cost and disruption of
emergency call-outs, whether for
boiler replacement or repair.
SystemCare has been designed
with market-leading products
and services to ensure that each
boiler receives the required type
and level of water treatment upon
installation. To make the treatment
process easy for customers and
add value for homeowners,
we make sure stakeholders know
how best to use Sentinel products
to optimise heating system
performance.
SystemCare | Page 11
Test results from leading OEM studies show that heating systems, which have passed water quality assurance tests experience significantly fewer boiler breakdowns than systems commissioned to an average level.
A key part of the SystemCare process
is the ability to provide independent
testing and reporting on the quality of
each commission using SystemCheck.
Having a continuous quality assurance
process ensures boiler warranties are
validated and risk of system failure is
greatly reduced.
Reduce your system failure rates by more than
60%
Cost saving and added value
The SystemCare Solution - Testing and Continuous ImprovementBy using Sentinel’s testing procedure, you ensure maximum protection upon boiler installation. You can then
be confident in your system's performance and receive the time and cost savings made possible through a
reduction in system failures and subsequent call-outs.
• Allows for greater control of
heating budgets
• Reduce system life costs by
reducing risk of water-related
component damage
• Independent laboratory
analysis
• Track samples and
results online
• Findings can highlight need
for further training and deliver
continuous improvement

The SystemCare package
is tailored to your project
requirements in every way
possible. After establishing your
Sentinel System products, the
bundle is packaged and delivered
direct to your chosen merchant
branches ready for collection or
delivery to site.
Having received the required
training, your team will be well
equipped with the knowledge and
the quality products to deliver a
successful commission on
each system.
After commissioning, the water
quality will be analysed using
SystemCheck, an independent
water sample test. Within one
week, the results will be returned
to project partners where
any issues or further training
requirements will be identified.
Using SystemCheck software
we can identify failures by
contractor, engineer, property or
pack reference number, enabling
SystemCare to focus future
training on addressing specific
reasons for failure to encourage
continuous improvement for all.
Ongoing training and
testing will ensure all systems
receive the highest level of
protection against water-related
breakdowns, minimising time
and potential costs.
Sentinel goes beyond the initial
install and promotes a process
of lifetime protection. As there are
instances of system water losses
such as in the removal of a radiator
whilst decorating, SystemCare
recommends annual service
checks to ensure water quality and
protection levels are maintained.
