ISSUE SECOND FEBRUARY 2020 NEWS & EVENTS Government of India Nodal Agency COMPLETION IPDS SYSTEM STRENGTHENING WORK IN 400 CIRCLES ACROSS OF INDIA A milestones was achieved by team IPDS where in system strengthening work viz Erection & Commissioning of 33/11 kV new sub station, Additional Power Transformers, Capacity Enhancement of existing Sub Stations, laying New Overhead Lines (33 kv, 11kV & LT) , Laying Underground & Aerial Bunches cables,Installation of Roof Top Solar Panels, Erection Commissioning of new Distribution Transformers, Capacity enhancement of existing sub stations, Metering was completed in 400 Circles across India. DISCOM MD speaks First 33/11 kV GIS Substation comes up in the North East Hon’ble MLA Guwahati West LAC Shri Ramendra Narayan Kalita in presence of Chairman Shri Vinod Kumar Pipersenia, MD Shri Rakesh Agarwal and other Senior officials of Assam Power Distribution Company Limited recently inaugurated the newly constructed 33/11 kV 2x10 MVA Gas Insulated Sub Station at Sarusajai, Guwahati under IPDS. This is the first Gas Insulated Sub Station constructed in North Eastern States. Under the IPDS, PGVCL has taken up system strengthening works of 459.65 Cr. in 69 Towns in its jurisdiction benefiting 21.69 Lakh consumers. 24X7 reliable power supply with reduction in interruptions and voltage fluctuations have been achieved by adding 8 Nos. of New 66 KV Substations and 36 Nos. of Power Transformers, conversion of more than 650.0 Km of Overhead 11 KV HT Line to Underground cable, over 3300 Nos. of old Transformers are replaced by new star rated Transformers, 45 Nos. of Feeder bifurcations, more than 1900.00 Km of HT and LT Aerial Bunch cable installed by replacing bare conductor lines and higher and precise consumption has been achieved by replacing existing electro- mechanical meters with more than 2.45 Lac Static Meters. Use of renewable energy has been taken up in progressive way in PGVCL offices by installing 41 solar roof top units with the total installed capacity of 589 Kwp.
