    CAPS UP IN THE AIR!

    Hailing from Manhattan,NY, Julie Vlaun is no stranger tothe hustle and bustle that is a partof being a college student. Aftermoving to Brooklyn then beingraised in Tampa, Fla, Soror Vlaunwas determined to attain a collegedegree.

    Florida State Universityappealed to Soror Vlaun the most

    out of a variety of colleges vyingfor her acceptance. She jumpedright into student leadershippositions. Some of herorganization highlights wereC.A.R.E. ambassador andC.A.R.E. Counselor, Treasurer ofthe Puerto Rican StudentAssociation, Fundraising Chair forthe BSU and Activities Coordinatorof the Womens Center.

    She was also accepted into some of FSUs most prestigious honorsocieties -- Omicron Delta Kappa and Garnet and Gold Key LeadershipHonor Society.

    August 6 marked the day that Soror

    Vlaun completed her undergraduate career.She received her Bachelors of Science infamily and child sciences and her minor inpsychology.

    Soror Vlaun is the first in her family toreceive a college education. Soror Vlaun iscurrently awaiting her admission decisionsfrom the regional campuses of UCF in DaytonaBeach and Cocoa Beach, Fla for nursingschool. Upon acceptance she will be starting

    classes January 2012. Until then, she will beresiding in Tampa. Once she moves to a UCFsatellite campus, Soror Vlaun plans to join analumnae chapter in the area.

    Soror Spotlight: Jalissa Sutton

    Soror Sutton has been making moves not average of a collegiate senior. She and hermother have two large projects in the works -- a TV show on a network station and a non-

    profit organization. Hot Spotz TV is an emerging, diverse entertainment televisionprogram focused on showcasing the hottest happenings. The show is offering up and

    coming businesses, artists, models and more an opportunity to receive air time at areasonable cost. The first episode will premiere in mid-October in the S. Florida area. The

    charity will focus on many miscellaneous community service projects and should beregistered for non-profit status by Summer 2012.

    Soror Sutton was recently featured on MotownGirl.com, a website about natural haircare. Under the MG spotlight, she was able to share her hair journey and she hopes to

    serve as a positive inspiration for women who are thinking about going natural.

    After her fall 2011 graduation, Soror Sutton will be moving to Washington, D.C.

    KEeping With Tradition...The neos of Spring 2010 will be hosting Soror Only events for FSU Homecoming 2011.

    We will be sending a save the date invitation with the list of events. We hope to see you

    all in Tallahassee. Please mark your calendars!
