Ethernet

Ø Requires an Ethernet board which can be used

with WindowsNT or Windows95.

Ø TCP/IP must be installed. FINS communications

on the Ethernet use UDP/IP. TCP/IP is included inWindowsNT.

Ø Has a fixed IP address allocated.

Ø Cannot be used on a system with DHCP

configuration, because the Ethernet unit requires

a static IP address.

Serial Link

Ø A PC 95-compliant COM port which can be used

with WindowsNT or Windows95.

Ø The above COM port must be used exclusively by

FinsGateway. Other applications not using

FinsGateway cannot use the COM port

simultaneously.

Ø COM ports that can be specified by the serial

communications of FinsGateway are COM1 to
