synopsis

AIM:

Designing the space by considering users-social and individual; spatial and emotional requirements and implementing them.

OBJECTIVES:

• Connectivity of all the activities.• For the future occupants some common spaces are made flexible for

easy change• Identifying various design possibilities and implementing them in

design.• Play of light and shades, which make them comfortable with

materials.• Play of levels to creating interest.

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS:

• The design is mainly focuses on function, materials, and climatology.• Limiting the number of users.• No consideration of the cost estimation and structural design.• No economic barriers.

METHODOLOGY:

• Knowing the behavioral aspects of different users in different activities.

• Studying the comfort of a multiple users in individual and social aspects.

• Knowing different users lifestyle, tendency of work, and habits. • Knowing the problems of different zones together and solving that in

design.

• To understand standards in designing of spaces with available literature from different sources.

• Desktop studies to know present scenario architectural style, design problems from place to place.

• Case studies for understanding the behavior of different spaces, lifestyles, zonings, spaces and comfort levels etc..,

• Selection of site and its analysis. • Studying the lifestyle, habits, schedule of the users, from these some

of the requirements of the user are obtained. From these the common priorities of the user and other are considered according to the importance of the user.

• Similarly a questionnaire about the elements of the office in detail are made and distributed which gives us the list of the requirements of a office which will be defined according to the user.

• So these residence and office requirements are considered according to the priorities of the user/client.

• Similarly the home offices of different people are taken and studied how they are working. So the areas where the user is not happy but design is good or the areas where user is happy but design is good or the areas where user is happy but design is not satisfactory are studied.

• From above all these, the usage and time of usage of space is known. So including the elements of nature like light, wind, sun, thermal comforts then we can know the ideas about these spaces is known. Thus overlapping the sun paths, wind maps, site, topography etc., on the requirements, we can know the positioning of openings, playing with light and shades and indoor and outdoor landscape etc will be seen.

• Conceptual layouts and also conceptual drawings of design shorting out the various options and finalizing the design.
