Firm Profile Synergy Design Studio is a full ser-vice Architecture, Interior Design and Consulting firm with branch offices in Miami Florida and Kingston Jamaica. With a combined experience of over forty-five years in the industry, the partners at Synergy provide extensive experience in a variety of project types. From pre-design to construction ad-ministration we devote time, energy and resources to communicating with our clients and team members in order to provide a seamless project delivery.

At Synergy we believe that architec-ture is a response to the fundamental human needs of creating shelter that not only functions but also respects and enhances the natural environment. Each project is approached as a direct response to its context and how that relates to the functions within. It is a balance of aesthetics, function and economics.

SustainabilityAt Synergy we are committed to incorporating principles of sustain-able design and energy efficiency into all of our building projects to reduce negative impact on the environment, improve building performance and re-duce operating costs. We see it as our duty as designers of the built environ-ment to provide our clients with pro-jects that are efficient, environmentally friendly, that not only meet but exceed their expectations while also generat-ing a winning bottom line.

We strive to work with the best consult-ants in the industry and in true “synergy” fashion we take pride in bringing together the many components of the construc-tion process as a cohesive team working towards a common goal.

At Synergy we are working with the lat-est trends in the industry. We are currently utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) to assist in design and production. This practice allows us to have fluid control over design and building data allowing for better communication with our clients and greater control over budget.

Rafael studied architecture at the University of Miami and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree In Architecture in 1979. He became a registered ar-chitect in the State of Florida in 1982 and a State Certified General Contrac-tor in 1987. He also holds a LEED AP certification.

Over his extensive career, Rafael has been responsible for the design and construction administration of pro-jects totaling over $1B in construction costs. Among the more recent projects he oversaw as Senior Project Manager and Senior Associate at the award winning firm of NBWW are Metro-politan Miami, a project located in the heart of downtown Miami and which includes Met 1 (complete), a 40 story mixed-use building containing retail & office space on the first 2 floors and

447 luxury condominium units in the tower; Met 2, nearing completion, which contains a 48 story, 750,000 sq. ft. class “A” office building with a LEED Gold rating which shares a 19 story podium with a 42 story hotel tower containing 326 luxury gues-trooms.

Rafael was also the Project Manager for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Tow-ers in Coconut Grove and the Ritz-Carlton DiLido in South Miami Beach. Previously, he was also the Head of Development for Equity One, a NYSE company and owned his own archi-tecture and construction firms, where he worked extensively designing and building custom single family homes as well as additions and renovations of existing homes.

Bruce graduated from the University of Miami with double majors in Architec-ture and the Fine Arts in 1996. In the subsequent years he gained invaluable experience in design and project man-agement at award winning firms The Howard Design Group and Alison Spear Architects. Bruce is currently a regis-tered architect in the State of Florida and Jamaica. He also holds a LEED AP certification.

Throughout his career Bruce has ex-hibited a strong passion for design with specific regard for sensitivity to the

environment. Having worked previ-ously in both Architecture and Interior Design, Bruce’s experience has taught him the importance of a unified project delivery. As project Architect Bruce has developed a rapport with team mem-bers and clients alike. This character-istic has served to unify project teams creating well coordinated projects and giving clients confidence throughout the process.
