The Christmas holidays will be here before we

know it! Last year we had more decorated homes

& yards than ever. Sydney Harbour was beautiful.

Let’s try to beat that record on December 15th. The

1st place winner will receive a $50 gift card and the

2nd place winner will receive a $25 gift card. Once

a house has won a prize, they cannot win again for

two (2) years. This is a beautiful neighborhood with

wonderful neighbors so let’s build a reputation for

beautiful decorations during the holiday season.

The communication committee coordinates the newsletter and updates the website as needed. As you see, we have begun a new format. The newsletter will now be printed and mailed monthly to all residents by Peel Inc. If you have any suggestions for articles for the newsletter, please send it through the neighborhood e-mail below.

COMMUNICATIONSCOMMITTEE

The Events Committee works throughout the year planning special events for the neighborhood. In order for us to continue these events we need volunteers.

Problem is—we’re not getting the volunteers needed for these functions. Please step up and help. If you have children, volunteer to help us so your little ones will have great memories of their neighborhood and enjoy living in Sydney Harbour. The events committee will be meeting next month to start planning for the 2014 events. So be watching for our new list of events.

SYDNEY HARBOUR

On December 12, 13 & 14 the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation will host the Cypress Hoops Invitational. A boys varsity basketball tournament including the 10 CFISD boys varsity teams and 14 out of district teams. Games will be played at Cy-Lakes High School , Cy-Ranch High School , Langham Creek High School and the Berry Center. This year’s tournament will feature five of the top twenty teams in the state including the number one ranked team in the state. Games at the Berry Center will include half time entertainment. The final game will include Superintendent Dr. Mark Henry

playing a game of H.O.R.S.E. with a community member who won this opportunity at one of our auctions. This year’s fun will also include the opportunity to win a Dodge Dart at the final game!Our goal is to create a successful high school basketball tournament that engages the entire community. Profits from the tournament will provide college scholarships for district students as well as staff development grants to CFISD.
