The first week of school is always an exciting time, and this year was
no exception. Our staff found adults and students alike here on the fir
day ready for school to begin. Students appeared with new haircuts,
sharpened pencils, and a can do attitude.
In the classrooms this week, there was an amazing amount of
community building occurring. In just one day, there was a different
greeting going on in each classroom during their morning meetings.
Just another mark of our teachers commitment to helping our studen
foster a sense of community.
Our kindergarten and preschool teachers conducted their home visits
during the first week of school. On September 6th, our smallest
community members braved the building for the first day. The studenand families did a wonderful job sending the students into the buildin
ready to learn and participate in our school community
Mr. Coon and Mrs. Raabe have been in and out of each classroom th
week. They have read stories to students, and brought in artifacts from
home to tell the students about themselves. In each classroom, the
students were respectful and asked wonderful questions.
After such a wonderful beginning, we are excited for a wonderful ye
with our amazing students and families!
What an amazing first week!

If you walk to either of thebuildings to pick up yourstudent after school, pleaseremember that families areasked to walk around the
playground, not through it. Wefind that our students have achallenging time transitioningfor dismissal if they know thattheir families are already atschool.
As always, please rememberthat the students are around, and can hear adultconversations that happen
near windows and doors.
