The National Agenda of Jordan (2006-2015) identified three characteristics of a growth oriented economy:

i) Innovation and technological advancement, ii) Expansion of entrepreneurial activities iii) Support of start up business.

The main keys to achieve these objectivesMatching the business sector with the research and academic community

THE NEED FOR R&D

Page 4: Support to Research, Technological Development & Innovation In Jordan SRTD Phase II Grant Guidelines and Application Process Eng. Raid Al-Ajlouni SRTD-II

4

The main problem in the Jordanian R&D and Innovation sector has been identified as

the little

“Commercialisation & Marketing Potential” of research community output.

Main Reason

The Focus of a large part of the research community is on publishing scientific articles. not on commercialisation of RDI.
