Super chlorination procedure of FWT 56 &
57 on board

To achieve proper disinfection level after contamination
FW tank and to reduce
amount of Hadex / water needed for super chlorination, following
steps should be
undertaken:
1! "repare additional tank on main deck close to tank#s manholes
$in this
respect, ship#s swimming pool can be used as high concentration
chlorine
solution vessel!
%! Fill the tank with potable water adding Hadex $calculating 1
liter of Hadexfor 1 m& water!
&! "repare air supplied respirator, full chemical suits, and
"TW/'(/T)T for
personnel entering tank $due to ver* high concentration of
chlorine
causing irritation to respirator* s*stem and skin, proper full
chemical ""+
should be worn!

deck to FWT

for minimum

$FW hoses tobe in use! Fill up the tank to the level providing
suction for ship#s transfer

another FW tank need to be empt* to accommodate super
chlorinated

3! 'emaining solution discharge overboard using ships discharge
line and
Wilden pump
4! 'eplace gaskets at manholes and close the tank Tank is read*
