The RICI was installed into a rooftop electrical cabinet, at Fort Bliss, El Paso, TX on 19 November, 2012 and was dismantled on 3 February, 2014 (440 days). The purpose of the experiment was to test the operational veracity of the RICI in extreme temperatures and environmental conditions seen in Theaters of Operation that are similar to those found in El Paso. The RICI continued to operate flawlessly throughout.
