The Joyful Noise
Fall is in the air and we are very busy on the preschool hall! We enjoyed a wonderful turn out for
our Grandparent’s Day celebration and book fair. We
invite you to come and browse our Scholastic Book
Fair and make purchases for yourself or the
preschool during the first week of October. We are learning all about God’s
world in Fall as we will be enjoying trips to the pumpkin patch, seasonal
crafts, and songs to praise and thank Him for His blessings outside and in our
hearts. We will learn about fire safety with the Hartsville Fire Department
volunteers and have Fall pictures taken outside.
We will also focus on literacy fun with our Tales and Treats Day on October
31. Students will dress up and visit five classrooms with a volunteer guest
reader in each one dressed as a character from a book of their choice. After
the book is read, the reader will pass out candy to the class before they rotate to the next room. We would love donations of large bags of candy for this
event! If you would like to be a guest reader that day, please contact me!
MANY THANKS to Jim Privette and Brad Herring for putting together our new
riding toys for our new track on the playground. THANK YOU to Al Fink for
bringing over his tractor to let our children sit on it and lift what one of our
three year old says was the “scooper upper” on the front end! You have made
many of my little friends VERY happy!
Thank you for praying for our families, our precious little ones, and our hard
working staff at First Baptist Preschool. We are grateful for the opportunity to
serve God and First Baptist Church!
Be a blessing! Cat
1st Kids
Hello Church Family, and Happy Fall!!
We are in full swing with 1st Kids and Club 45 on Wednesday
nights! If you know any children that could benefit from an
hour of worship with other children, please encourage them to
join us from 6pm-7pm. We are learning BIG things this year, and look forward to
many hearts turned over to Christ in 2020!
Another BIG thing is our upcoming Fall Festival on November 16th. You guys know
that this is a huge opportunity for us to reach the unchurched in our community. We
have seen great fellowship on our campus, and we are excited to host it again. If you
would like to be a part of this, please let Ruth know and she will get me your contact
information. We need volunteers, donations for food, cakes for our cake walk, and
LOTS of prayer as always! Please pray for how you can be a part of this.
As always, your encouragement and prayers continue to fuel this ministry, and I can't
tell you enough how much you are appreciated! Thank you!
In Love,
Ms. Lauren

Happy

Allan’s Arrangements
Recently I was up in North Carolina enjoying the mountain scenery. There was a cool chill in the morning that was signaling the arrival of fall. However, the trees had not yet started their changing of colors. I was reminded of the song that is taken from Isaiah 55:12 “For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” This chapter has so many rich verses for those that follow Him. But in order to catch the full meaning of this verse you must go back to verse 10-11 that says “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose from which I sent it. For ye…” The life of one who is following the commands of Christ, that is being fed by the word of God, and that is seeking to fulfill God’s purpose will have a joy and peace that bursts forth with singing and with all of creation we will worship the Creator of it all. Worship Him, Allan
Pray for your leaders– your nation’s leaders and your church leaders.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NIV) I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— 2for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
Don’t participate in the hate speech that’s plaguing our nation.
Pray for new believers.
Colossians 4:2-4 (NIV) Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.
Be willing to explain Jesus when someone asks you about Him. (See 1 Peter 3:15-16.)
Pray for your church.
Acts 4:24, 29-31 (NIV) When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. "Sovereign Lord," they said, "you made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and everything in them. ... 29Now, Lord, ... enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. 30Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus." 31After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
Pray for your church and together with your church. Take advantage of two
opportunities on Wednesdays: the prayer team meets in the prayer room at 10:30 am, and
the church’s prayer meeting starts at 4:30 pm. The Lord loves to hear His church pray!
AMSC UPDATE
The Associate Minister Search Committee is still receiving resumes for the full
time Worship and Outreach position. They have narrowed down their search since
last month. Continue to pray for them and for the Lord to reveal to us the right
person for the right time.
