BACK YARD BIBLE CLUBS

June 22-26 We have a team of parents coming together to plan out Backyard Bible Clubs as an out-

reach mission opportunity for our church. To-wards the end of summer we will look to do a day VBS camp when it is safe for us to come together in larger groups here at the church.

Please be in prayer for us as we plan the best way for us to minister to all the neighbors we

are now meeting due to COVID-19.

YOUTH NEWS

I have been reading in my favorite book of the Bible, Philippians and today I was in Chapter 2. I read the whole thing 3 times. Each time through a differ-ent translation. I love how Philippians 2:5 reads in the New Living Transla-tion. “You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.” Wow, would that change anything for you? Not just to have the mind of Christ but to have the attitude of Christ? These days there are so many opin-ions and each one is sparked by their own mind and own attitudes but do we allow God to transform our attitudes? Remember, Jesus stands before Pilate and doesn’t say a word! He eats a last meal with the same guy that betrays him and he knew it when he washed his feet! He heals the ear back on a sol-dier who was arresting him! He looks out in pain while he is hanging on the cross and sees people that need a relationship with God and says “don’t hold this sin against them, Father.” Wow! How powerful are those words because it was you and me that he was looking at when he said those words. We put him there. Do you feel you have a right to be mad, bitter, arrogant, controlling, belittling, better than others? If so, we are feeding those attitudes more than we are feeding the attitude of Christ into our lives. Let’s humble ourselves and have his attitude. Randy

Hello Church! I hope you’re having a wonderful day.

Good news!!! It looks as though we will finally be coming back together for Sunday morning worship in the very near future. We are aiming to return to Sunday worship next Sunday the 24th of May, the day before Memorial Day. It’s been a long time, and I know that many of you are just as ready to come back as I am, but our day will still look a good bit different.

For the foreseeable future, and I’m not sure how long that means, we will only have Sunday morning worship. We won’t be returning to Sunday School, Sunday evening worship, or Wednesday evening Bible study for a while yet, in an effort to limit our exposure.

In talking with other local pastors, and our staff, and our lay leadership, we’ve decided to take baby-steps in our return. Until we come back in full force, we will continue to have livestream services on Wednesday nights, recorded messages from Allen, and recorded messages from Brooks to help you stay engaged. Between now and then, we will talking a lot about what that day will look like, and what it can’t look like. We’re going to have to make some changes when it comes to personal contact, at least for a while. And we’ll need everyone respecting these changes in order for them to be effective. The only thing that could postpone this reopening, would be a targeted plea at churches from our Governor. We still want to be good citizens, but it appears that many parts of society are opening back up, and we expect that by next week, we should be good to go.

I’m excited. The rest of your staff is excited. And I hope you are too. Be looking and listening for more details over the next week or so. Love you all, and I will see you SOON! Bro. Chris
