Summer Research Training Program

• an opportunity to participate– in virtually all aspects of a research project with the

guidance of a faculty research mentor.

• This includes: – reviewing literature– helping design a project, if not already done; – doing the project; – analyzing the results; and – presenting your findings at Student Research Forum

Major points

• Identify a mentor (at KUMC or outside University)• Applications due April 1, 2014• 8 weeks of 40 hours/week = 4 units of credit• 4 weeks of 40 hours/week = 2 units of credit• 8 weeks of 20 hours/week = 2 units of credit• Summer Course on Research (4 lunchtime lectures)• You can write a paper or present at the Student

Research Forum or National Meetings or all of the above to receive academic credit.
