TEENSDRAWING AS A BRAIN SKILL [Ages 13+]This is a class that mimics art jobs. Design an iPod case, a noodle maker, a parade fl oat, architecture for village planning, a Mardi Gras papier-mache head to wear for a festival. Create a character and their activities and illustrate a visual narrative about them like a short graphic novel. Skills are honed by drawing exercises, outdoor painting to capture the colors and temperatures, and by sharing ideas and acting on them.

CREATING WITH CLAY [Ages 8+]In this class we will be learning and using all of the basic hand building skills while creating a variety of fi nished pieces. Some of our projects will be making people and animals, wall pieces and gargoyle fl owerpots. If you have taken a clay class before, you will have the opportunity to grow your skills while enjoying new projects. Color and surface design will utilize both engobes and underglazes. Students will have time to create work using their own ideas.

WHIMSICAL UNDERWATERWEIRDNESS [Ages 3-1/2 - 6]Create a paper mache sculpture of a creature of your choice- be it a mermaid, sea serpent, or realistic aquatic ani-mal! We’ll make a large poster with paint and collage of our very own made-up fi sh bowl, and decorate it with jeweled accents. We’ll make our own versions of sunken treasure, such as mermaid crystal balls and Atlantean-inspired curios. We’ll make stickers, magnets, clay creations, and more in this all-things aquatic fun class!
