President’s MessageI have to admit it; I am fanatical about motivational quotes. Anyone who follows me on social media is likely sick of daily doses of quotes, articles, or TED talk videos … speaking of inspiration, I was thrilled with the response to our first installment of the bankcda lunch & learn series with Wize Solutions Founders Alan Wolfe and Dani Zibell-Wolfe. We packed the boardroom with business professionals looking to improve their skills in the area of public speaking. Our next installment: HIRING RIGHT – The Foundation for Building a First Class Team”, scheduled for May 23rd.

I am not only inspired by quotes, but also community leaders who display grace and integrity every day. We are fortunate to have one of those people speaking at our Coffee Connections on April 6th – Patty Shea, Regional Business Manager for Avista Utilities. Patty will be discussing networking and navigating professional social situations. This event is a benefit of being a member, so please join us for this complimentary networking program.

Have you bought your Super Scholarship Raffle ticket yet? During the month of April, when you purchase a raffle ticket, your name will go in drawing for (2) rounds of golf at the Links Golf Course. Super Scholarship Raffle tickets make a great gift, in fact our Chair-elect; Graydon Stanley purchased raffle tickets as baby gifts last year. The gift of education is priceless, order online, or stop by the chamber office to purchase.

It’s Community Business Fair time! Who doesn’t want the opportunity to network with nearly 100 businesses under one roof? On April 26th we will again welcome 1,000 + community members through the doors of the Greyhound Event Center. If you haven’t signed up for your vendor space, contact one of our team members today!

Looking ahead…

Another luminary leader, Mr. Ron Nilson, CEO of Ground Force World Wide, is our keynote for the June 6th CEO Series Luncheon presented by Idaho Central Credit Union. How does one define success? Come join us as we learn what it takes to build a successful business, healthy and happy family and make a positive impact in our community through philanthropic endeavors.

One of my favorite quotes is from Eleanor Roosevelt “When you cease to make a contribution, you begin to die.” I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and contribute alongside all of you.

North Idaho Education PartnershipThe NIEP is eager to provide quality opportunities for youth to experience the workplace, and we rely on businesses in the community to

share their knowledge and experiences. A small amount of your time discussing with a student college and career options within your field of expertise can have a lifelong impression and help in creating a stronger workforce, maybe even future employees! It will take less than five minutes of your time to add yourself to the database of individuals who students and teachers can contact to

request assistance. You choose what you get involved with and how much time you can dedicate to those activities. Let’s be a part of the solution and assist our community by helping students find a path that excites them!
