July 2, 2015 Dear Fellow Newarkers: On behalf of the entire City of Newark, we are pleased to offer once again our “Summer Fun in the City”program to the citizens of Newark. From movies and basketball games, from arts and garden-ing, from skating and dance to family fun activities – our Summer Fun program is entertaining for everyone from kids to adults. Last year, our Summer Fun in the City Program and its following Fall Fun in the City Programs served more than 20,000 residents, providing them with entertainment, education, and empow-erment. We engaged our community with positive activities, and are excited to do so again on a greater scale. In this booklet, you will find out about all the programs we are offering, where and when they are taking place, and how you and your families can partake in them. There is something for every taste, and all of these programs are seeking not only participants to enjoy them, but civic support – volunteers and supplies – to make them happen.

If you have ideas or energy to help make Summer Fun in the City now or this year a better program, come and join us, and bring your love of Newark to help transform our community into a City we can all believe in.
