Summer A 2019:• Computer-Aided Engineering (CADE)• Contract Administration for Project Managers (CAPM)• Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Control (HSE) (OSHA)• Engineering Management Professional Certification (PCEM)• Project Management (PRMG)• Real Estate Appraisal and Valuation Expert (REST)
Professional Program RequirementsEach of the professional programs includes six courses, divided between required and elective classes. Each course is made up of 45 hours of instruction. Candidates must complete the required classes, but electives may be selected from a group of courses offered. A candidate in one program may take one course as an elective from the list of courses offered in other professional programs.
To complete the requirements for any of the professional programs, the candidate must successfully complete the six courses. To earn two professional certificates, 12 courses must be taken. At the end of some of these programs, the candidate must present an acceptable final project. The certificate requirements may be completed in two semesters (one year), but could take up to three years. Some professional programs are also available via e-learning.

Method of Instruction
Course material is in English; however, a mix of English and Arabic instruction is used in classes to facilitate communication between instructors and course participants. Courses blend a variety of instructional tools including case studies, interactive discussions, visual aids and practical sessions.
BlackboardAll participants enrolled in ESS professional programs are entitled to access a Blackboard account. Blackboard is a web-based course-management system designed to allow students and faculty members to communicate and use online materials and activities that complement face-to-face teaching. Blackboard allows faculty to add resources for students online to enhance teaching and learning.
In case of any emergencies: • ESS will cancel any course lacking the minimum number of participants. In that case, the participant will be refunded the full
amount, or the fees may be used toward the completion of another course during any semester.• ESS may change the listed instructor.• In case of emergencies, ESS courses will temporarily be held through Blackboard sessions.
Registration Time and FeesThe registration fee for each program is indicated on the schedule (Egyptian pounds for Egyptians and U.S. dollars fornon-Egyptians). The fees may be paid in cash or by a check payable to The American University in Cairo. Letters ofauthorization from companies and organizations are acceptable.
Registration will be held for all participants from May 12 to 16, 2019. National ID. and one personal photo is required for applicants to receive their IDs.

Drop Policy
Participants are permitted to drop/add until June 12, 2019.
Incomplete Policy
Participants who are unable to complete a course because of exceptional circumstances may ask for an incomplete grade of I with presenting official documents stating and supporting the reasons for the request . This grade is given with the approval of ESS administration and the course instructor.
The incomplete course must be completed by the end of the following semester without any availability of transfer to another course. An administrative fee of 25 percent of the total course fee will be charged to participants seeking incomplete. If necessary action is not taken on time, the incomplete grade I will be changed to a grade estimated on the basis of the work already completed as part of the course
Deadline for incomplete requests June 27, 2019.
Participants who drop a course (stop attending) without informing the ESS office in writing will receive an F in the course.

Refund PolicyRefunds are made according to the following schedule:
• Before the beginning of classes: full tuition refund• From the first class until the end of the second class: 50 percent of tuition• By the third class: no refunds will be made.
The refund request should be supported by the original receipt, course material and a copy of the national ID. Refunds areprocessed within a month of receiving a request, and the participant will receive a check in their name for the refund amount.
Study Period ExtensionProfessional programs usually take three years to complete. However, participants who are faced with hardships or situations beyond their control should present proper documentation to justify their cause. Each case will be closely examined by ESS. In all cases, only one semester of study may be extended.

Online Courses
Method of InstructionESS online courses use the leading Blackboard web-based course management system as the platform for instruction. This system is used worldwide by universities and allows students and faculty to communicate and create a rich learning environment using online materials and up-to-date communication technologies such as email, discussion boards, wikis and blogs. This asynchronous learning environment gives the participants flexibility to study according to their own schedule and their own pace from anywhere.It is expected that some of the participants may have no previous experience in participating in an online course, and ESS provides personal technical assistance and clear online instructions to help participants overcome any technical problems during the program.
ApplicationUpon completion of registration, participants will be issued an AUC email username and password and an ID number. A Banner Self-Service manual will be sent via email to explain the process of registration and fee payment.
ESS ID• An ESS ID card allows the participants to enter any of AUC’s campuses and the AUC Library for using only. (Issuing ID is optional).• The cost of issuing an ID card for the first time is LE. 50 (non-refundable) paid on the registration of the courses by the trainee whatever
individuals or nominated through corporate. The ID will be renewed at no extra cost for subsequent semesters.• ESS IDs are issued from 9:00 am to 3:45 pm from Sundays through Thursdays at either the ESS New Cairo or Tahrir Square office. Special
arrangements can be made for issuing the ID on Saturdays in Coordination with ESS Dept.• It is not necessary to bring a personal photo. The ID center will take a picture on-site and issue the ID instantly.• The smart ID card must be carried at all times. The card is NOT TRANSFERABLE. Card holders should not lend the ID to another individual
for any purpose.• A lost, stolen or damaged card must be reported to ESS. The participant will have to pay the LE 50 fee to receive a new ID.

سیاسة استرداد المصروفاتوتأجیل المواد في البرامج التخصصیة
۱ - شروط استرداد المصروفات الدراسیة
في حالة رغبة المشتركین في البرامج التخصصیة بوحدة الخدمات الھندسیة والعلمیة في إلغاء التسجیل أو االنسحاب من برنامج أو مواد ما، یمكنھم استرداد المصروفات الدراسیة طبقا للشروط التالیة:
• في حالة االنسحاب قبل بدایة الدراسة، یمكن استرداد المصروفات كاملة.• في حالة االنسحاب في الفترة من بدایة الدراسة وحتى نھایة المحاضرة الثانیة، یمكن استرداد ٥۰٪ فقط من قیمة المصروفات.
• في حالة االنسحاب في بدایة المحاضرة الثالثة، ال یمكن استرداد أیة مبالغ مدفوعة.
یتم صرف المبالغ المستردة بعد شھر من تقدیم الطلب مع تسلیم اإلیصال األصلي، والكارنیھ، والمادة العلمیة لوحدة الخدمات الھندسیة والعلمیة. وفي حالة إلغاء أو تأجیل أي من المقررات من قبل وحدة الخدمات الھندسیة والعلمیة لعدم اكتمال عدد الدراسین، یمكن استرداد قیمة
المصروفات كاملة أو یمكن استخدامھا في التسجیل في برنامج آخر في موعد أقصاه عام من الفصل الدراسي.۲ - االنسحاب من برنامج
الدراسة. نھایة تقدیر «F» في التسجیل فیھا بدون طلب انسحاب، یحصلون على تم التي البرامج الدارسین في انتظام أي من في حالة عدم ویمكن تأجیل مادة ما مع االحتفاظ بالمصروفات الخاصة بالدارس الذي یواجھ أي ظروف خارجة عن إرادتھ، ویعني ذلك حصول الدارس علي الداعمة الكاملة المستندات إلى الھندسیة والعلمیة، باإلضافة الخدمات المادة)، وتقدیم طلب لقسم تقدیر «I» (مع دفع ۲٥٪ من إجمالي ثمن التالي مباشرة. للطلب وبشرط أن یقبل عذره من قسم الخدمات الھندسیة والعلمیة واألستاذ المحاضر، على أن یتم استكمال المادة في الفصل
* أخر موعد للتحویل من مادة إلي أخري یوم ۱۲ یونیو ۲۰۱۹.
* أخر موعد لطلب عدم استكمال المادة (Incomplete) ۲۷ یونیو ۲۰۱۹.

یسر وحدة الخدمات الھندسیة والعلمیة بالجامعة األمریكیة بالقاھرة أن تعلن عن قبول دفعة جدیدة من الدارسین بالبرامج التخصصیة اآلتیة خالل الفصل الدراسي الصیفي األول من العام الدراسي ۲۰۱۸ - ۲۰۱۹:
(CADE) البرنامج التخصصي في التطبیقات الھندسیة للحاسب اآللي • (CAPM) البرنامج التخصصي في الجوانب التعاقدیة إلدارة المشاریع •
(PCEM) البرنامج التخصصي في الشھادة الدولیة للھندسة اإلداریة • (OSHA) البرنامج التخصصي في األمن الصناعي والصحة المھنیة وحمایة البیئة •
(PRMG) البرنامج التخصصي في إدارة المشروعات • (REST) البرنامج التخصصي في خبراء التقییم العقاري •
الشھادة التخصصیة:
تتكون جمیع الشھادات التخصصیة المذكوره أعاله من ستة مناھج دراسیة والتي تنقسم بین مواد إجباریة وأخرى اختیاریة. یجب أن یتمم الدارس المواد اإلجباریة وأن یختار المواد االختیاریة حسب تخصصھ ورغبتھ مع تقدیم مشروع مقبول. تتم دراسة أي مادة دراسیة في فصل دراسي واحد والتي تعادل ٤٥ ساعة دراسیة للبرنامج الواحد. یمكن للدارس أن ینتظم في دراسة أكثر من منھج في نفس الوقت. كما یمكن أن یكمل الدارس متطلبات الشھادة التخصصیة في فترة تتراوح بین سنة واحدة وثالث سنوات دراسیة بحد أقصي. ولكي تتاح الفرصة لالستفادة من البرامج األخرى، یمكن للدارس أن یختار مادتین اختیاریتین فقط من أي من البرامج التخصصیة األخرى.
أسلوب الدراسة:
تستخدم النظم الحدیثة في المحاضرات والمناقشات والدراسات التطبیقیة والتدریبات العملیة على الحاسب اآللي لتغطیة المناھج الدراسیة. وتنتقى المذكرات من أحدث المراجع، والتي عادة ما تكون باللغة اإلنجلیزیة، على أن یتم استخدام اللغتین العربیة واإلنجلیزیة عند إلقاء المحاضرات حتى ال تكون اللغة عائقا في سبیل
التحصیل.
یبدأ التسجیل اإللكتروني أو بفرعي الحرم الجامعي (التحریر و التجمع الخامس) لجمیع الدارسین من ۱۲ حتى ۱٦ مایو ۲۰۱۹ یومیا، من ۹:۰۰ صباحا حتى ۱:۳۰ ظھرا،عدا یومي الجمعة والسبت،علي أن تبدأ الدراسة في ۹ یونیو ۲۰۱۹ وتنتھي في ۱٤ یولیو ۲۰۱۹.
