Fun in the Sun! A Zeta-fabulous Summer
While summer is a time that most people return home and lose contact with their college friends, we have made a great effort to keep in touch with our sisters even while we aren’t at school! From trips to the zoo with alumnae to sisterhood shopping trips for recruitment clothes or just keeping in touch through a sisterhood blog, we are keeping our sisterhood bonds strong in order to come back to campus in the fall to prepare for a fabulous recruitment!

Where the Wild Things Are On June 26th, several ZTA’s ventured to the Detroit Zoo to spend the day with Detroit Metro Alumnae. The day started off with a potluck and continued into a tour of the zoo. Emily Fraser, who worked at the Zoo last summer, acted as tour guide, showing all of the lions, tigers, and bears (oh my!). The weather was gorgeous for walking around, and by the time they hit the Arctic Circle at the end of the day, everyone was ready for the air conditioning and ice that came along with it. It was a great experience to meet and talk with the alumnae- Zeta really is forever!
Race for the Cure On May 21, Race for the Cure took over Detroit and four of our members woke up early and made the drive to help end the fight with Breast Cancer. Four collegiate and several alumnae members worked at the Survivor's Tent and T-shirt stations. While working, they heard stories that were both heartbreaking and joyous, making the experience more moving with every story and woman.

National Leadership Conference 2011: Create the Change
From July 14-‐17, Paige Szymanski and Karen House, along with DNCH Kristen Harthorn and General Advisor Barb Cossman, traveled to Indianapolis to embrace the sisterhood at the National Leadership Conference. This year's theme was "Create the Change," so the presentations and group discussions revolved around the idea of improving your chapter through change. Presentations from National Officers were broken up by small group discussions. Facilitated to address certain topics, the small groups offered the opportunity for sisters from different chapters to talk about recruitment, sisterhood, risk management, and
even chapter meetings. Not only did they all get to learn about “creating the change,” Alpha Gamma was recognized for our contribution to ZTAF and on Saturday night, we received our FIRST Crown Chapter Award where we got a standing ovation from the entire conference plus a rousing round of Hail to the Victors. Paige, Karen, and Barb ventured to ZTA International Office on Saturday afternoon, where they toured the building and stopped to pose with the Chain of Chapters and our Alpha Gamma flag. It was a truly great experience filled with great ideas to help “Create the Change” within Alpha Gamma!
Today & Forever We’ll Be Zeta’s True One of the biggest benefits of ZTA is having a connection with people around the country!

trip while she was wearing her letters! -Laura Raines met two other ZTA’s during campus rep training for Victoria’s Secret PINK (Texas and Arkansas). She also is interning with two Zetas; one from Wright State and another from Miami University, OH. -Kyla Miller’s friend from high school is a ZTA at Wisconsin-Oshkosh. -Courtney Brown works with a
woman who was an Alpha Gamma almost 40 years ago! -Maddy Thompson met a ZTA from Central Michigan in Las Vegas on vacation. --Jen Balogh met a ZTA from Iowa who was their president as well as a Zeta legacy whose mom attended Longwood University (Alpha)
