StormzyAfter he appeared on stage with Kanye, Skepta and Novelist at the Brits it appears that 2015 is THE year for Stormzy. Best British grime artist winner at the MOBO’s, listed on BBC Sound of 2015 and a sold out tour - we are very excited to see him at SUBU’s Summer Ball.

Julio BashmoreOne of the most distinctive figures in UK House, Julio Bashmore has rocketed from producing records in his parents’ house, to DJing on festival main stages and hosting his own show on BBC Radio One

M.OMeet Frankee, Nadine, and Annie, the next biggest girl band! Recently the stars of a very wet edition of Innuendo Bingo, they’ll 100% make a splash at this year’s ball.

Zak AbelWriting music since he was 15, Zak Abel has recently collaborated with Bondax and featured on Gorgon City’s superb chilled out summer anthem ‘Unmissable.’

Who is behind summer ball?

The SUBU summer ball is a fundraising event for the Students’ Union at Bournemouth university,

registered charity number 1144886. It is designed and

delivered by the staff and students at SUBU. All profits from Summer

Ball go back into making your Students’ Union (SUBU) even better!

How do I know I’ve got a proper ticket?You must possess a full physical

colour Summer Ball ticket to board a bus or get into the ball.

Your ticket includes several security features: holographic foil,

security paper and bar code.

What do people wear?

Fancy-dress themes are embarked upon weeks before the event, so

start planning now!

There is a cloakroom (£1 per item) and all stages are under cover.

can i bring imitation weapons with my outfit?

If your fancy dress outfit has any kind of imitation weapon or

similar (pointy, sticky, or likewise), then these will get confiscated on

the door.

Is there an official after party?

Yes! This year The Old Fire Station throws its doors open from 2am,

to see the night through.

Then, from about 4am, start heading down to pier approach for the famous survivors photo - taken

at 5am.

When will all the photos / videos

come out?SUBU’s own excellent Nerve

Media will be capturing all the Summer Ball 2015 action including photosets, videos, interviews, and publishing a Summer Ball review

magazine straight after.

How do I re-sell my tickets properly?

If you have a spare ticket then this year SUBU are going to run a ticket re-sale service. It will be operated

from SUBU reception.

Full details are at subu.org.uk/summerball but simply SUBU will safely store and list your ticket/s

for sale, and contact on your behalf a list of prospective buyers

to sell the ticket/s to on a first come, first serve basis.

How much money will I need?

There’s no cash machine at the site so make sure you have enough

cash to get you through the night!

We recommend £35-50 should be enough for a great time (assuming you use the free transport service).
