AIR

Air is one of the natural resource from the environment.

All living things need air to live.

We cannot see or touch air but it is always around us.

We can feel air when it moves.

Trees make the air fresh and clean.

Air is made of different gases like oxygen, carbon-di-oxide and so on.

Moving air is called wind.

Air has weight.

Air has space.

Wind is classified based on its speed.

Breeze

Gale

Storm

Breeze:

Gently or slowly moving air is called breeze.

We feel pleasant with the breezing air.

Gale:

Wind blowing is fast and slightly strong is called as gale.

It can move the leaves and branches of trees.

Storm:

Strong wind along with rains or snows is called as storm.

Uses of air:

Air is needed for burning.

Wind helps to move the sail boat.

Humans, animals, plants need air to breathe.

Wind moves the fan of windmill.

It helps to dry wet clothes.

Air helps to feel cool under the fan.

Air helps to fly kites and balloons.

Footballs, tyre, pillows and swimming tubes are filled with air.

WATER

Water:

Water is one of the natural resource.

Humans, animals, plants need water to drink and live.

Water has no fixed shape.

Fish, Frog, whale, shark, seal, crab, Alligator are live in water.

Plants take water from the soil through their roots.

When we feel thirsty our body needs water.

Forms of water:

Solid:

Ice is the solid form of water.

When water temperature is very low then it freezes and ice is formed.

Water:

Liquid form of water is water.

Gas:

Steam or water vapour is the gas form of water.

Water is converted into steam when water is heated.

Cloud are formed by water vapour.

Sources of water:

River Lake Pond

Rain water Tap water Spring water

Tube – well Sea

Sea water:

Salt water contains high amount of salt.

We cannot drink sea water.

Uses of water:

We use water in many ways.

Drinking Cooking Bathing

Cleaning utensils Toilets Washing clothes

Transportation Swimming For agriculture

Storage of water:

Water should be stored in clean container. We should be drink boiled and

filtered water.
