On March 01, 2012, student committee presidents of31 inclusive education schools visited the NationalAssembly of the Republic of Armenia.

The Study tour was organized within the frameworksof the EU funded project “Speaking for Myself: Voicingthe Hopes & Concerns of Children in Armenia”.

Following a tour of the National Assembly building which included anintroduction to the history and activities of this state structure, as wellas an opportunity to follow the discussion and passing of a bill fromthe journalist’s booth, the students had a privet meeting with theChairman of the National Assembly Mr. Samvel Nikoyan, as well asMs. Anahit Bakhshayn, who is a member of the NA’s StandingCommittee on Health Care, Maternity and Childhood.

The students went away with a better understanding of how theNational Assembly functions, as well as with some answers to theirseveral questions regarding children and disability rights, educationand renovation/development of their school facilities.
