Student report cards

Presentation for Parents of Secondary School Students

2007

They are report cards that:

Are used in all Government primary and secondary schools to report student achievement in P-10.

What are the student report cards?

Consultation with parents highlighted a number of issues:

• variation from school to school

• lack of clarity in terms of understanding what their child has achieved and what they can do to support their child’s progress.

Why are the student report cards being introduced?

Student report cards will follow a common format and be written in plain English.

They are being introduced so that:• there is consistency from school to school

• parents will receive a clear picture of their child’s progress against the same state-wide standards.
