Although the learning material is extensive, it is not meant to be totally comprehensive. There is an element of further reading involved and you will therefore need to read as much other material as possible (some is suggested in the learning material) in order to get an ‘in depth’ understanding of the subject. Examples include the LEEA COPSULE, User’s Handbook, Lifting Engineer’s Handbook and relevant standards covering the various equipment.

This guide is intended to assist students in accessing and using the new LEEA training portal. When you have answered all the questions, save the document to your folder using the same file name. Note: If you are using Word 2007, it may try to save the file with a .docx suffix instead of the .doc suffix. However you will be able to choose to save it in the original format and it is essential that you do save it as a .doc file.

Return to the website and login using the login process described earlier. Then click the “My Documents” tab, then click on the “Documents” icon In the “Upload completed assignment” column click the “Upload” icon

Repeat the process for all remaining assignments. The work can be completed at your own pace although it is expected that you will average one assignment per week. Your tutor will download your completed assignments and, after marking them, upload them in a similar manner. The download icon will then appear in your Download marked assignments column and you can download them following the same procedure as before. The marked assignments should be saved in your work folder using the file name allocated. This will file documents for you in the correct order. You should allow 10 to 14 days between uploading your completed assignment and receiving it back after marking If you have any problems in entering the training portal or in completing the process please contact us by email on [email protected] It is possible for both students and tutors to inadvertently upload the wrong document. Please check you have selected the correct document before uploading. However if you do make a mistake, please notify us immediately to enable us to correct the error. Reminder: Throughout these instructions we ask you to use the file names offered by the system and not to change them. This is because the system automatically names the file according to its contents and adds to the name at each stage thereby enabling us to identify which student has completed the assignment and which tutor has marked it. Any change to the filename is likely to result in lost documents.
