From the Pastor

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Today is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. In both the Novus Ordo calendar as well as in the Traditional calendar this great Feast is re-membered today. God who loves us infinitely has revealed Himself to us as a Trinity of Persons yet as only one Eternal God. Let us contemplate this great mystery today with love and ask for an in-crease in the virtues of faith, hope, and love so that we can live in the mystery of Trinity more fully and consciously. I hope that everyone enjoyed the Feast of St, Toribio and his fellow martyrs yesterday. I would like to thank all of those who helped to or-ganize the Carnival and procession and Mass. It takes months of preparation and lots of hard work. Thanks to everyone who made it happen and all those who came and enjoyed the day together. The money will go towards paying the rest of the debt on the Chapel of St. Toribio. I’ll let you know soon how we did on the Carnival and how much debt we still have. I am hoping and praying we will have eliminated the debt by July!! Please pray with me for this intention. School and religious education classes have now ended for the summer and soon we will be settling into a nice summer routine. Last summer we did a lot of work around the parish trying to make things look better and this summer we won’t have so much repair and beautification projects as last year. But, we will keep busy with the summer camp program and other projects through the next few months. We will be blessed by the presence of one of our seminarians named Juan Angel Grajeda from Guadalajara, Mexico. He will be staying with us throughout the summer. Please welcome him at the reception we will have today after 12:30 p.m. Mass. Everyone is invited. Juan Angel will be or-dained to transitional diaconate on July 16th at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral. I am hoping that we

May 22, 2016

will all make it a point to attend his ordination. It will be the ordination to the priesthood of Sean O’Brien who was was with us last summer here at Sts. Peter and Paul. We are continuing with the daily rosary at 7:00 p.m. on the weekends and at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. If you would like to join in the families that are praying please fell welcome. But, if you can’t come to the Church to pray the ro-sary at least do so in the privacy of your home, hopefully with your family. This whole month of May is dedicated to Mary and praying her rosary seems like the least we can do for her. God bless you all and let us pray for each other. Sincerely yours, Father Timothy Davison

Seeking to understand the trinity if you sometimes find the Church’s teachings in-comprehensible, be encouraged by today’s Gospel. Recognizing how bewildered his disciples have be-come, Jesus says” I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.” Then he promised that Attention Holy Family High School Alums The 14th Annual Holy Family High School Reunion will be held on Friday, May 27th , 2016, from 700 until 11:00 PM in the Holy Family Cathedral Heirling Hall.
