Background of the Stroma GroupStroma was founded in 2002 in response to changes in the building regulations. The initial Stroma Tech business was built on the provision of compliance testing, energy assessment, and design consultancy services.

In 2007, Stroma was granted a licence by DCLG to operate a certification scheme for UK energy assessors in the UK. Stroma Certification is now the market leader and has extended its service provision to operate a number of award-winning installer certification schemes.

In 2014, the Group launched Stroma Software as a subsidiary part of the Certification business. In 2015 there was further expansion with the acquisition of Greendoor Building Control and Specialist Services, followed by BBS & Approved Design. Together they form a dedicated Building Control division.

The directors’ vision was to make Stroma the leading certification company in the UK, and in order to achieve this, an institutional investor (Lloyds Development Capital, part of the Lloyds Banking Group) was approached to help accelerate the growth of the business. LDC supported a management buyout of Stroma Group in May 2014.

• OSCAR has been delivering Roofline Installation Awareness to all SIG branch personnel.

• Over 80 staff have attended so far.

• OSCAR will be delivering onsite competency based assessments to SIG customers in 2016.
