SECOND COLLECTION
Today's Second Collection is to assist Churches in Latin
America & the Caribbean, Central & Eastern Europe, and
Africa. Projects include work in the areas of evangelization,
formation of laity, religious and seminarians, as well as
youth ministry and catechesis. Your generous support is
greatly appreciated!
FIRST FRIDAY HOLY HOUR
This Friday, February 1st is the first Friday of
the month. Exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament will take place after the 9am Mass
and again at 7pm. The Spanish Mass will
begin at 8:00pm.
HEALING MASS MONDAY, JANUARY 28th
A Healing Mass will be celebrated TOMORROW, Monday,
January 28th - at 7:00pm, instead of the usual 6:30pm Mass.
ALTAGRACIA CELEBRATION
St. Michael’s Parish had a wonderful celebration of the
feast of Our Lady of Altagracia. We thank the Altagracia
Committee who organized a beautiful Novena, Mass and
reception for our parish last Saturday. On behalf of the
Parish, we thank the Altagracia Committee and everyone
else who donated their time, gifts and talents.
ADULT SACRAMENTS
Any adult who has received Baptism and Holy Communion
but has not received Confirmation may register at the
Rectory for preparation classes to receive the Sacrament of
Confirmation this Spring. You will need to bring your Birth
and Baptism Certificates. Also, those who have not yet
received First Holy Communion may register for these
classes. Classes will begin on February 4th.
2018 TAXES
If you use the Sunday contribution envelopes and would
like a statement for your taxes, you may request one by
calling the Rectory Office during office hours at (718) 768-
6065 and we will arrange to send you a contribution report
for 2018. Thank You!
NO COST BREAST CANCER SCREENING
The American-Italian Cancer Foundation will have a
“Mobile Unit” here at St. Michael’s to provide No-Cost
Breast Cancer Screenings for women, age 40 and over, who
have not had a Mammogram in the last 12 months on
Sunday, February 17th from 9:00am-5:00pm. Anyone
interested can contact the Rectory 718-768-6065 or 877-628
-9090 to make an appointment.
NATURALIZATION WORKSHOP
If you have a Green Card, you may be eligible for
citizenship. There will be a workshop on Thursday, January
31st, 2019 at Catholic Migration Services (191 Joralemon
Street 2nd Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201). To Register for the
workshop please call 718-236-3000 or text 718-866-3687.
FEAST OF THE PRESENTATION AND ST. BLAISE
We will celebrate the Feast of Presentation on Saturday,
February 1st at 3PM in Spanish. On Sunday, February 2nd,
although a Sunday, we will celebrate the traditional Feast of St.
Blaise, Bishop and Martyr, which will include the tradition of
Blessing Throats. The blessing of throats will take place at the
end of each Mass on Sunday, February 3rd.

FR. FELIX HERRERA TO BE
ASSIGNED TO ST. MICHAEL'S
Bishop DiMarzio has assigned Fr. Felix Herrera to serve here at
St. Michael's as of January 31st, 2019. Fr. Felix was ordained a
priest for our Diocese in June 2014. He has served at the parish
of St. Joan of Arc and in the past year has been working for
Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of New York. He was
born and raised in Jackson Heights, Queens. We are very happy
that Fr. Felix will be with us. Let us keep him in our prayers as
he will begin his ministry here at St. Michael's.
ADDITIONAL (TEMPORARY) ASSIGNMENT
FOR FR. KEVIN
Dear Parishioners,
Bishop DiMarzio has asked me to serve as the "Temporary
Administrator" of St. John the Evangelist-St. Rocco parish from
February to June (2019). This "new" assignment is in addition
to my assignment here at St. Michael's. I hope that there will be
as little change as possible in my ministry here, but, at the
moment, I am not sure how much time I will need to spend each
week at this neighboring parish. I have discussed this change
with our Parish Staff and Leaders and I trust that we will all be
able to work together to do what our Lord (and the Bishop) is
asking us to do. At this point, I would just like to ask your
continued prayers, support and patience and I will try to keep
you "up to date" as things develop. Sincerely, Fr. Kevin
A MESSAGE FROM FR. GESSON
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to you Fr. Kevin,
Msgr. Thomas, seminarian Brendon, the staff, and all
parishioners for your love. It was a great blessing for me to
live, share ministry, and pray with you. Since I came to St.
Michael’s after my priesthood ordination, you have been
helping me to grow and embrace more and more my vocation.
As a young (BABY) priest, St. Michael’s was the right place
for me to begin my ministry. The St. Michael’s family has
inspired me in so many ways and has strengthened my faith.
It is very hard for me to say goodbye, but I have to be opened
to God’s plan. Please, continue to pray for me in my new
ministry as I will continue to pray for you.
Thank you very much for everything! May God continue to
bestow His choicest blessing upon you and your love ones!

SEGUNDA COLECCION
La Segunda Colecta de hoy es para ayudar a las iglesias en
América Latina, el Caribe, África Europa Central y
Oriental . Los proyectos incluyen trabajos en las áreas de
evangelización, formación de laicos, religiosos y
seminaristas, así como ministerio de jóvenes y catequesis.

PRIMER VIERNES HORA SANTA
Este viernes 1 de febrero es el primer viernes del mes. La
exposición del Santísimo Sacramento se llevará a cabo
después de la misa de las 9 am y de nuevo a las 7 pm. La
misa en español comenzará a las 8:00 pm.
MISA DE SANACIÓN EL LUNES 28 DE ENERO.
Una Misa de Sanación se celebrará MAÑANA, lunes 28 de
enero, a las 7 PM, en lugar de la Misa de las 6:30 PM.
CELEBRACION DE ALTAGRACIA
La parroquia de San Miguel tuvo una maravillosa
celebración de la fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Altagracia.
Agradecemos al Comité de la Altagracia que organizó una
hermosa Novena, misa y recepción para nuestra parroquia el
sábado pasado. En nombre de la parroquia, agradecemos al
Comité de la Altagracia y a todos los demás que donaron su
tiempo, regalos y talentos.
SACRAMENTOS ADULTOS
Cualquier adulto que haya recibido el Bautismo y la
Sagrada Comunión, pero que no haya recibido la
Confirmación, puede registrarse en la Rectoría para las
clases de preparación para recibir el Sacramento de la
Confirmación o la Sagrada Comunión esta primavera.
Tendrá que traer sus certificados de nacimiento y bautismo.
Las clases comenzarán el 4 de febrero.
TAXES 2018
Si usa los sobres de contribución del domingo y desea una
declaración de sus impuestos, puede solicitar uno llamando
a la Oficina de la Rectoría durante el horario de oficina al
(718) 768-6065 y coordinaremos enviarle un informe de
contribución para el 2018. ¡Gracias!
DETECCION DE CANCER DE MAMA A NO COSTO
La Fundación Américo-Italiana de Cáncer tendrá una
"unidad móvil" aquí en San Miguel para proporcionar
examen de mama gratis para aquellas mujeres de 40 años o
más, que no se han hecho una mamografía en los últimos 12
meses. Será el Domingo, 17 de Febrero de 9:00am-5:00pm.
Cualquier persona interesada puede llamar a la Rectoría al
718-768-6065 o al 877-628-9090 para una cita.
UN ENCUENTRO DE PAREJAS
Está abierto a todas las parejas que son felices y quieren
permanecer felices. El próximo Encuentro de Parejas será

PARA PADRE KEVIN
Queridos feligreses,
El obispo DiMarzio me ha pedido que actúe como el
"Administrador temporal" de la parroquia San Juan el
Evangelista-San Rocco, de febrero a junio (2019). Esta
asignación "nueva" es adicional a mi asignación aquí en San
Miguel. Espero que el cambio en mi ministerio sea mínimo
aquí, pero, en este momento, no estoy seguro de cuánto tiempo
necesitaré pasar cada semana en esta parroquia vecina. He
discutido este cambio con nuestro personal y líderes
parroquiales y confío en que todos podamos trabajar juntos para
hacer lo que nuestro Señor y el Obispo nos están pidiendo que
hagamos. En este punto, solo me gustaría pedirle sus continuas
oraciones, apoyo y paciencia, y trataré de mantenerlos
"actualizados" a medida que las cosas se desarrollen.

PADRE FELIX HERRERA SERÁ
ASIGNADO A SAN MIGUEL
El obispo DiMarzio ha asignado al p. Felix Herrera a prestar
sus servicios aquí en San Miguel a partir del 31 de enero de
2019. P. Félix fue ordenado sacerdote para nuestra Diócesis en
junio de 2014. Sirvió en la parroquia de Santa Juana de Arco y
el año pasado trabajó para Caridades Católicas en la
Arquidiócesis de Nueva York. Nació y creció en Jackson
Heights, Queens. Estamos muy contentos de que el Padre Félix
estará con nosotros. Mantengámoslo en nuestras oraciones ya
que comenzará su ministerio aquí en San Miguel.
UN MENSAJE DEL P. GESSON
Me gustaría expresar mi más profunda gratitud a usted, Padre
Kevin, Msgr. Thomas, al seminarista Brendon, al personal y a
todos los feligreses por tu amor. Fue una gran bendición para
mí vivir, compartir el ministerio y orar con ustedes. Desde que
llegué a San Miguel, después de mi ordenación al sacerdocio,
me han ayudado a crecer y a abrazar cada vez más mi
vocación. Como joven sacerdote (BEBÉ), San Miguel fue el
lugar adecuado para comenzar mi ministerio. La familia de San
Miguel me ha inspirado de muchas maneras y ha fortalecido mi
fe.
Es muy difícil para mí despedirme, pero tengo que estar abierto
al plan de Dios. Por favor, continúen orando por mí en mi
nuevo ministerio, ya que continuaré orando por ustedes.
¡Muchas gracias por todo! ¡Que Dios continúe otorgando Su
mejor bendición sobre usted y sus seres queridos!
