About this resource Staying Safe Online is an education resource created by Into Film in partnership with Childnet International to support
Safer Internet Day
The resource uses film to ignite pupilsrsquo imagination and bring important messages to life providing them the information
they need to be safe citizens in an increasingly digital world
In this resource pupils will explore the key themes of

for the filmrsquos selection You should watch the films and the relevant clips prior to delivering these activities in class

Establishing shot
Sets the scene by showing the location from a distance so the viewer can see where the action is taking place
Long shot
Shows the full length of the body from feet to top of head Used to show a character in relation to their surroundings
Mid shot
Shows the character from waist to the top of the head Used for facial expressions in combination with body language
Close up
Shows the character from the shoulders to the top of the head Used for capturing characterrsquos facial expressions
Extreme close up
Where an object item or body part fills the film frame Used for heightening emotion
Zoom in
When the camera moves towards an object item or body part Used to heighten emotion or show detail
Zoom out
