A new year offers a new start for many of us. Like Paul, we “[forget] what is behind and [strain] toward what is ahead” (Philippians 3:13). Through Christ, Who has paid the penalty for our sins, the slate is clean; we can forget about the past. We are new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), ready to go forward in His strength to serve Him with the gifts He has given us.

J.O.Y. Group (Just Older Youth) The J.O.Y. group meets again on Thursday, January 19 at noon for a potluck & fellowship. Our guest speaker for the day will be Tina Klemm who will speak about her missionary trip to Honduras. Bring a dish to pass & a place setting for fun, food & fellowship.

Thank you to all of the volunteers who so generously give of their time to help the church office complete many tasks on a regular basis. Your efforts & time are greatly appreciated and the office could not function without your help! We are always in need of a few more

volunteers. If you have some time available to help with small tasks, call the church office. Thank you again, and God’s blessings in the New Year.

2016 Year End Contribution Statements

Your 2016 year end contribution statements will be mailed to the home address that we have on record for you. For questions concerning your statements, contact Elaine Shultz at [email protected].

The Church Office Will Be Closed

Monday, January 2. Have a Happy & Safe

New Year!

As winter is upon us and bad weather is sure to come, power outages to the church are possible. Before you leave home for the church for an event, to determine if the church has power or not, call the church phone at 248.625.4644. If the phone just rings with no one answering and no option for voicemail, the church most likely has no power.

2017 OFFERING ENVELOPES The 2017 offering envelopes are now available in the Narthex for pick up. All envelopes have been renumbered, therefore your number will be different from this year. If you don’t find envelopes & you would like some, please write your name on

the list provided or call the church office.

COFFEE HOUR VOLUNTEERS If you enjoy coffee on Sunday mornings, please consider volunteering to prepare the coffee and clean up after services. It really doesn’t require much time at all and volunteers sign up for a month at a time. There is a sign-up sheet for 2017 in the narthex.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY LEADERS NEEDED SUNDAY MORNINGS

We are looking for Adult Bible Study leaders for the Study of Matthew that meets on Sunday mornings at 9:45. If you have ever considered leading a Bible Study, now is your opportunity. A sign up sheet is available in the narthex.
