SCRIPTURE CORNER PEOPLE OF HOPE Throughout this Easter season the readings have drawn us into the experience of the early church. We have tasted the excitement and zeal of the first Christians. Now, with them, we listen to the words of Saint Peter, who reminds us that when people notice that we are people of hope, we should be ready to explain why. This challenges us. Do others even notice that we are people of hope? In a world often marked by cyni-cism and hopelessness, do we stand out as people who offer hope and reassurance to others? In today’s Gos-pel Jesus promises that when he leaves the earth he will not leave us orphaned. Today he promises to send his Advocate, the Spirit of truth who will be with us always. Let us acknowledge the presence of the Holy Spirit and ask the Spirit to make us people of hope. ——Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.
ROSARY BEFORE ALL MASSES IN MAY In our Catholic Faith, the month of May is dedicated to the Holy Rosary, one of the best known of all Catholic devotions. The Rosary begins 25 minutes before Mass is to start. You are invited to please arrive a little early, bring your Rosary and pray with us.
GOD BLESS OUR CONFIRMATION & HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATING CLASSES OF 2017

To avail of this lower rate of tuition at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School, St. Patrick High School and/or Our Lady Academy, a registered family must be attending Mass at St. Thomas on a regular basis and using your church support envelopes regularly or the electronic method of contributing financially to the church. Your tithe is appreciated and needed for the upkeep of the par-ish. A form to request parish subsidy is available at the school office; turn it in to the parish office for completion.

Jesus says, "Look at me. I stand at the door. I knock." (Rev 3:20) How do you respond when God is knocking on your door? This study will look at how that question has been answered by key characters in scrip-ture: Moses, Jonah, Ruth, Isiah, the First Disciples, Saul, and Lazarus. How did they respond to God's call? And what lessons can we apply to our lives today? When: Wednesdays, Starting May 10th and continuing through June 28th. Time and Place: 7:00pm, 2nd floor in the parish office complex. For information, call or text Dave Gauthier, 228-596-8835. No registration is necessary. Plan on attending any or all of the sessions.
CAMP STANISLAUS Camp Stanislaus, an overnight and day camp for boys and girls ages eight through fifteen, is currently tak-ing applications for campers for the 2017 camp session. Camp Stanislaus will run from June 11 through July 8. Campers can sign up for one, two, three, or four week ses-sions. We will also offer a father and son camp from July 8 to 9. The philosophy of camp is to provide campers with a noncompetitive environment to grow and enjoy their camp experiences. The main focus of Camp Stanislaus is the total development of the camper. Given the many years of operation, many fathers continue to send their sons to enjoy the wonderful camp experience that they had as a young boy at Camp Stanislaus. At Camp Stanislaus, camp-ers will enjoy sailing, water skiing, archery, swimming, field sports, crafts, hobbies, day trips, and much more. Application forms and more information, can be downloaded from www.campstanislaus.com For more information about Camp Stanislaus please contact the di-rector, Sam Doescher, at [email protected] or (228) 467-9057 ext. 277.
