Marriage Jubilee 2019 - All couples who are celebrating their 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, and above wedding anniversaries (Church marriage, not civil marriage) in the calendar year of 2019 are invited to the Diocesan Marriage Jubilee celebration on March 24,
2019, at 3:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Cathedral, San Angelo. Families and friends are invited to accompany our jubilarians to this celebration. Renewal of vows will take place within the Mass. of faith together and it is so exciting to be on this journey with you. God has great things in store for us in 2019! "RCIA" stands for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. It's the process by which adults come into full communion with the Catholic Church. It's free, childcare is provided, we have a lot of fun and we always have something good to eat! “Levántate, ha llegado tu luz”
Los Magos eran los sabios de su tiempo. En todas las antiguas culturas conocidas el curso de los
astros y los sueños eran modos normales de intentar conocer el futuro para tomar decisiones. En la
región de los magos eran desde hacía tiempo muchos los judíos y tenían gran influjo. No es extraño
que aquellos magos supieran de las profecías mesiánicas, que nosotros seguimos leyendo hoy en
el Antiguo Testamento. De un fenómeno estelar extraordinario dedujeron que había nacido en
Judea aquel Mesías del que los judíos y sus escrituras hablaban.
No se conformen Ustedes con creer y hacer unas cuantas obras buenas. Hay muchos a su
alrededor que necesitan que se les diga que Jesús ha nacido para su salvación. San Pablo, cuando
se despide de la vida y de su discípulo querido Timoteo, le pide que lo diga con oportunidad y sin
ella.
Hoy, con ocasión de esta festividad de Epifanía, no vacilemos en hacernos responsables de esta
obligación. Somos responsables de que el conocimiento de Jesús llegue a todos los hombres. En
mi familia, mis hijos, mis padres, mi esposo, esposa, hermano, hermana, compañero de clase o de
trabajo, vecino… ¿Oro por ellos? ¿Me sacrifico? ¿Leo la Biblia, estudio el catecismo, voy
aprendiendo a “dar mejor razón de mi esperanza” (1Pe)? ¿Mi vida tiene calidad cristiana? ¡Ojalá
que esta pregunta nos apremie, nos duela, nos responsabilice! Y pidamos a Dios gracia para darle
respuesta.

Thanks to all of you who support the poor through Helping Hands so generously, this is what we were able to provide financially to those in need in 2018:
Electricity 154 families $ 48,190.25 Gas 32 families $ 3,949.57 Water 112 families $ 30,938.56 Rent 968 families $ 943,035.16 Motel Rent 65 families $ 78,612.60 Transportation 22 families $ 13,708.87 Propane 4 families $ 700.04 Medical 74 families $ 77,461.73 Home Repairs 11 families $ 7,067.61 Legal 5 families $ 5,143.00 Miscellaneous 31 families $ 4,578.96
Holiday Food/Christmas (not covered by donations received) $ 11,246.50 TOTAL 1,478 families $ 1,224,632.85 And that is financial assistance alone. 362 children received a complete set of new clothing
plus at least 3 toys apiece for Christmas. Holiday food consisting of $50 gift cards to Super Mercado for both Thanksgiving and Christmas was given to 1129 families. Clothing was distributed throughout the year to those in need, particularly those people coming out of prison or halfway houses in need of clothing to start new jobs, and those people adversely affected by natural calamities, such as fire.
Absolutely none of this would have been possible without your compassion for the poor of Midland and your continued support of Helping Hands. May God bless each and every one of you! We pray that your new year be filled with joy, good health and prosperity. Thank you all very, very much!
